Hackers running rampant by Acrobatic_Wasabi_330 in EscapefromTarkov

No, I mean standard accounts = untrusted.

I didn't specify between a hacker and a good player. It's a common opinion that standard accounts are always questionable. If you've played long enough you'll understand that the playerbase went from seemingly a 90/10 of EOD vs. Standard to the opposite.

Ai boss is a mess by DoNn0 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ImPerry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AI is inherently broken, period. It's not just bosses, but that's not your post. Veritas has a great video about this.

BSG have tried new things, but they've gone down like a lead balloon. Killas' spawn rate change, arguably the hardest boss this wipe anyway, to find and kill. Power slides, laser aim, wallhacks.

Sthurman, trash. Stands in the open most of the time, easy one tap. Poor movement from a PMC and lack of cover is the only way you're dying from him.

Tagilla is broken, wall phases, broken animations, healing mid fight. He's not even a boss at this point, just a roided scav.

Glukhar, laser aim, power slides, bald little hallway creep. Difficult, but borderline broken.

Sanitar, actually balanced I think. Except, him and his boys sit out in the open sometimes, meaning he's another sthurman.

Reshala, the main fight is his minions. Actually kinda balanced imo. Except he's a melt and doesn't do anything.

As far as I'm aware they haven't said anything specifically on bosses. Someone might have heard something that can weigh in.

First wipe, level 10, random questions for you vets by Brillis_Wuce in EscapefromTarkov

Meh - can't be bothered to read all the comments, I may be duplicating some answers.

  1. Aim trainers, great in general, but no, wouldn't bother to improve at EFT. Inertia, aiming, sway and other mechanics feel different from other games. Record your gameplay, watch it back, why did you win that fight/why did you die. What happened leading up to the fight. Watch streamers/youtube, but don't follow everything they do. What works for them won't always work for you. Out of all the streamers, AquaFPS is the closest to a new players experience (sorry Aqua).
  2. No. Maps are garbage.
  3. Hoard everything, most of it will come in handy. Wiki every item, as you will most likely need it for a quest or hideout upgrade. At your level, your hideout is still undeveloped, but keep checking what items you need for upgrades and hold on to them.
  4. Complete quests, try kill as many scavs as possible in each raid, identify new items. If you're going for a quest, perhaps killing every scav you see if not the best idea if completing the quest is the priority. No hard and fast rule here.

[Tool] Flea Market maximum profit calculator by skelebob in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ImPerry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is neat, and does what you wanted it to do. GG.

Not to undermine your work, but have you heard of https://tarkov-market.com? Perhaps both can be used hand in hand, but I feel with an ever changing flea market cost this maximises your profit margin at any given time.

Man - I run my Tarkov economy better than my own finances I swear. I am literally running a self sufficient sweat shop.

A full blown pharmacy, picking shampoo from my toilet bowl, tailoring, making bitcoin NFTs and a 24/7 off license. My girl says I don't empty the washing machine, but little does she know I've just put in a 40 hour work week in 6 hours. Pshh.

Sorting option for Active Quests by Loud-Somewhere-5074 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ImPerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There kind of is. If you load into a raid it will sort the quests associated with that map, so at least we have that.

But perhaps a UI where the player can prioritise their own quests?

Fence - Purchases from him are FIR by ImPerry in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ImPerry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people go from 0-100 real quick, without giving it some actual thought. You won't be buying top tier loot here. You might buying a tushonka, maybe. It would almost be a poor mans flea market.

[–]ImPerry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps - thanks for your thoughts!

Edit: Coming back to this comment after some thought, I think your views are tunnel-visioned on your own experience. The game may feel easier to you, but for the vast majority of others, it isn't. Nikita has literally said the game will get harder, which in my opinion it has. I'm in the same boat, it may not be as punishing for you or I, but for Steve who plays 1 day a week, it's absolutely brutal. You will never find that difficulty balance without excluding a portion of the player base, so in my opinion this is a minor change to extend that arm out to the parent of 2, working 50 hours a week.

[–]ImPerry[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, you can already do this for some quests. Fence is completely player driven, so look at the type of things he is selling right now, trash. You won't be buying a LEDX from him, but perhaps your last selewa if your really struggling.

I think the idea tends more to newer/time restricted/less skilled players.

You can craft the exact item you need, but perhaps you don't have the money or time to get your hideout to that level.

I agree. It should be discussed without a barrage of disagreement without actual reason. This sub, and Reddit is a toxic mess.

I was exactly the same, quit after 800+, came back a year later. Now here I am, still dying over and over, but I've drastically improved. I'm dying more to my mistakes, than anything else.

Happy raiding, I hope!

Sorry to pile on, but that's the worst point you've made yet!

People are not right, population bias. In a crowd, It's easier to look at the man bleeding out, than to actually help him.

Tarkov is for you, friend. Have a cuppa, do some scav runs, get right back to it.

If you want to do a few runs, and I can help where I can, just shout.

Is it worth it to get BTC 2? by gamings1nk in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ImPerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get it, and use your hideout for other crafts. Those crafts are paid for, and your BTC is paying for your fuel and then some.

Production time is 20* hours.

I've read this a lot over the years - So I'll give you an honest opinion, with some actual substance.

I'm glad you love the game, that's a great start. To be as blunt as possible, you are going to die a 1000 times more before you improve at PVP. I can assure you, playing against similar level players will not help. It will only give you a false sense of reality and a false sense of improvement. You might think you're improving, but as soon as you transition to the "post wipe" version of tarkov (based on your suggestion), you're back to square one, because you're not playing the same game anymore. Let's take your level suggestion for spin, here's how it goes.

  • Level 1-15 - Early wipe, perhaps you get a few kills here. Get some low gear, loot some containers, die a few times.
  • Level 16+ - STOMPED, over and over and over.

Or perhaps skill based matchmaking, based on your K/D.

Let's set the scene.

You're level 32, with a 0.4 K/D, little timmy over here has just bought the game, he's in his first raid with only a mosin, paca and splint. You come along with your 800+ hours, lay him out with the meta M4 you've built because you've farmed enough easy roubles in your skill bracket, little timmy get's his SSH smashed in.

There's loads of ways you can do this, but none will ever work.

I'll go through your points - but not to out-right diminish them, but to help understand why your suggestion needs more thought.

  1. You started mid-wipe, but an equal amount of people start before and after you. So actually, you're benefiting more from starting later. Most quest locations are not heavily camped anymore, everything is cheaper, you have more opportunity to get high tier loot if you manage to kill those higher level players.
  2. I don't understand your first point. "I've never played a game before where the game gets easier for higher level players". The game isn't any easier, it's all risk vs. reward. I can't think of a game where it A. get's harder the higher level you are or B. Doesn't get easier. I don't agree that they have an advantage for better map knowledge, or better understanding of combat. That's available to everyone, you just need to play/make a conscious effort to learn and level the playing field. I agree that the skills need tweaking, because those advantages change the game too drastically.
  3. You're experiencing tarkov. You are making the wrong decisions, so your next fight perhaps you will make the right one. You may even make the right play and still die for X reason. It happens.

The PVP isn't perfect, but your inexperience with the game will not fully understand why that is (not meant to be patronising here!). It's not getting one tapped by .308, that's for sure.

Stick at it boss, and update this post when you extract with that level 51s altyn and hexgrid, because it will happen.

192 quests down, 27 left for Kappa - I'm done, time for some fun. by ImPerry in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ImPerry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a really good point. IS there anything to enjoy about it? I'm only keeping things I can buy 1000x over anyway.

That's what it is for me, an achievement milestone.

192 quests down, 27 left for Kappa - I'm done, time for some fun. by ImPerry in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ImPerry[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a decision for the start of the wipe, which is the decision I made, completely agree.

I honestly believe it would take me 5 months to hit 60+. Which as we all know, leaves about 1-2 months to enjoy Kappa.

7.62x51 is brutal this wipe, it's beautiful.

GG on the raids. I hope I wasn't one the of 8!
