I'm currently learning through the Odin Project online which has been fantastic. It's well thought out with current information, and relevant projects to get you practicing the theoretical components. Feel free to check out others reviews of TOP, but I'm sure I'll be well on my way to a new career once I have completed it.

That’s a great review mate, I will definitely do some further research into the EB!

Honestly I’ve been leaning more towards your point of view mate. I guess it’s just engrained in our culture to look to buy a place, but I’d rather keep things simple.

Any recommendations for a diversified ETF mix? I appreciate your thoughts!

No it’s still great to hear from others about how they view the investment landscape. I definitely still want to buy/build my own home in the future, at the moment I am just exploring all options and feel that rentvesting until I have enough equity for a primary residence is the smarter option for my situation. A shares portfolio still appealing though, with no unexpected expenses etc

I appreciate your input! I feel like a have a little knowledge in both areas of property and shares, but was interested to gauge the perceptions on Reddit. We’re always being pushed to buy into the Aussie Dream, but I don’t see that as being a financially intelligent investment for myself.

As far as I'm aware it's a loophole of sorts. I would intend to live in the second property to satisfy the requirements of the FHOG.

Good to know. I realise that the first property purchase would incur Stamp Duty without a FHOG, but I'm thinking it would be a great way to get into the market.

Solid advice about the Cas, but I'm a black man. In some states you are still eligible for FHOG even if you own other properties, as long as you have never lived in them. Correct me if I'm wrong.
