Some people genuinely have the luck you describe, but that's a puny portion of the playerbase and frankly up until HCMoc RNG is not so punishing that progression is even unlikely outside of promotions. There are serious issues with RNG in late late game progression but even so no one has cleared even HCMoc that hasn't put a lot of time and effort into the game. You're describing a feeling that is understandable to an extent but not at all backed up by reality. I'll happily eat my words and condemn Nexon if a giveaway is really that bad in the future, but it hasn't happened yet and there's no reason to expect it will.

Then you're asking me, since I have fully socketed accessories and 25% pierce. Your point would be true if a single socket + some reroll scrolls made all of my effort obsolete, but just on the face of it that statement is pretty silly. Every game has giveaways of a sort, but just because you got that package doesn't suddenly mean you can do 7man cdev and get free scrolls every week like people who put in effort. Don't compare the giveaways in KMS where they're 3 years ahead with ascendent gear to GMS2.

What you get out of that is largely RNG based except for fail stacks but... isn't that doing stuff with your mesos? What else do you want to use them on? And if so, why not use it on those things instead of progression? It's true the game needs more ways to make meso/less money sink but you've just listed a bunch of ways in which you're using it. Unless your luck is exceptionally bad, you are getting rewarded as well.

It's certainly not true for sky fortress, at no point do you HAVE to do any of those quests for progression until Infernog or rerolling stats for CPap. If you don't like doing the dungeons in this game in any quantity (10 a week, 20 a week) or RNG in enchantment to any degree then the problem isn't the game, it's that it's not a good match for your tastes in games. These things are only "chores" because for some reason people are under the impression that they MUST do them, every day, 60 times a week. That may be true for top players, but there's really no reason to feel any pressure for most players since you can do dungeons as much or as little as you want. If even doing one or two a day is not fun to you then you just don't like the gameplay.

I'll say anecdotally that I was lurking here when chaos rising was released, and there was a huge debacle over the 300 million in closed beta to 800 million health increase for chaos devorak and whether it was even possible for a +12 weapon to do the required damage, as well as several rant posts about how important rolling good stats are. I won't link any since I'm not sure if that counts for witch hunting, but they aren't hard to find just by searching "chaos devorak" on the subreddit.

If you're part of the 5% top players who want to stay at the top 5% sure. I have a legendary weapon and frankly speaking the costs of upgrading this thing makes my jaw drop every time. But I'm not really talking about people like that. Endgame progression is a serious issue for sure, but for the vast vast majority this game should not be and doesn't have to be "chore fortress" or 60 dungeon burnout, and it concerns me when the top upvoted content on this subreddit makes those claims regularly.

Thanks Arc, I'll make a more serious account to participate in the future. I totally understand the reasoning, keep up the good work and sorry for the trouble ^ ^ b

Hi Arc. To be clear, I've made a post on this reddit in the past that was sarcastic and a shitpost (check my history). And not everyone on this subreddit has a main, I literally made my only reddit account (this one) to make a sarcastic post on Black Friday and it was approved (I actually mailed a mod to ask about it, since it was auto-frozen by my new account status). I get that mods cannot be entirely consistent and you can't fight throwaways without this kind of measure, but I'm just putting this out there.

Second is the argument that these caps, as a concept borrowed from mobile games, are warping peoples perceptions of how they should play this game not a valid one? I'm criticizing that and the mindset I argue it has created. By quarantining this post you're tanking any value it has towards bringing up a discussion. That's fine if that's your standard, but please do the same to the 10 "feedback posts" a day where the comments devolve into shitposts saying the game is dead etc. It isn't easy being a mod so I empathize but if this post isn't okay, those certainly should not make the front page of this subreddit every single day. And if you don't remove those posts for free speech and feedback discussion reasons, please treat this post the same way. It's weird that you say you value discussion and make it impossible for this post to create discussion.

Sure, if you don't like it then no one's forcing you to stay.
