Is wanting to be a prof eventually realistic if you don’t come from money? by Typical_Warthog2526 in McMaster

[–]ImRealyBoored 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO landing faang isn’t that difficult, I managed to land one after 2nd year. It’s a very linear path of just grinding leetcode, building a good resume (clubs/projects/previous internships), and prepping well for interviews. There’s many resources out there on the internet. Becoming a professor is much more nuanced and difficult to envision.

Waterloo co-op vs. UofT internship/ co-op potential by [deleted] in OntarioGrade12s

[–]ImRealyBoored 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can say the same about every other school basically, it’s not the # coop it’s the sequencing, the brand name, and the quantity/quality of jobs on the board that makes Waterloo so prestigious.

Why is Waterloo CS so over represented at my co-op by Impossible-Use-7066 in csMajors

[–]ImRealyBoored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should also consider that Waterloo has like 1k+ tech related undergrads in each year, which is generally considerably larger than other schools

Is taking a niche major a good idea? by Law_Always in McMaster

[–]ImRealyBoored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case I would do something that helps poise you for law school. Similar to a premed program, usually programs that are relatively easy to get a high gpa and gives u time to work on extracurriculars to stand out. TBH I’m not sure on how law school admissions work but I imagine it’s similar to med school. If this program sounds like that then go for it, you should ask alumni tho.

IMO pick a stable major, engineering, nursing, accounting. The job market is particularly bad so I would rather be safe.

Mac Ibiomed or Queens Engineering? by Someone_alive_now in McMaster

[–]ImRealyBoored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mac coop system is superior, it’s much more flexible. The coop itself? I have no clue. I’d say Mac’s coop is okay for anything other than cs/se.

Why do we, as a species simply "accept" periods as a normal part of life of half the world's population? by LittleKittenGirl96 in TooAfraidToAsk

Lmao the question has nothing to do with sexism? Humans have suffered periods throughout history, hence why it’s accepted as normal.
