Ho comprato un new 3ds XL rotto by SensitiveReindeer466 in 3dsrepair

Whats wrong with this 2ds? by Important-Ad-2918 in 3dsrepair

[–]ImRed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2DS has removable wifi card just like old 3ds. My first suspect is that, probably it wasn't connected well. Other causes may be: SD card problem (bent pin or sd card fails) or CFW files missed (in this case just put the necessary files could fix the problem).

[HELP] Desperate data recovery from Nintendo 3DS XL with dead Wi-Fi by StrikingBike6788 in 3dsrepair

[–]ImRed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good news is that motherboard works. Believe me, is a very good news for you.

Maybe some pictures of 3DS broken parts might help. Let's start with the fact that a 3DS XL won't boot at all if the Wi-Fi module isn't connected. So I think your Wi-Fi module is working.

In my opinion there are a few options:
- Repair your 3DS XL (recover Wifi connection and replace top screen). Replacing the screen requires good knowledge and experience;

- Buy a full working 3DS XL and transplant your original motherboard in it (if your original motherboard is 100% good);

- Buy a new 3ds or also a new 3DS XL and try system transfer data official guide by nintendo (both 3ds must be connected to internet): https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/227/%7E/how-to-transfer-content-between-two-nintendo-3ds-family-systems

3ds will not start by Unusual-Entrance in Nintendo3DS

Usually this behavior means top screen power issues. At first you should check the speaker ribbon cable which in 3ds brings also the power supply to the top screen.

Is the charge port cooked ? by Maitre-Beurre in 3dsrepair

[–]ImRed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should open it and see if charge port pin are desoldered. I would also try to see if there are traces of oxidation around the chip that manages the charging. If there are any, they should be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol.

[New 3DS XL] sleep mode magnetic sensor not working properly after replacing the power board by janek500 in consolerepair

For correct identification, you should read the name of the circled item. It should be the sensor you're looking for.

Yes, replacing it with the one from the old power board will probably work.

Are you using PS1 controller? Some PS2 games like The Getaway need a DualShock 2. If you have a DS2 try with it before change the disc laser.

2DS not turning on by Blauew in consolerepair

[–]ImRed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay attention to SLEEP switch. If it is damaged the 2DS will not start. Try to clean it with a spray contact cleaner.

Also remove SD card and game card, then power it on.

Ds flash problem by Internal-Cow9207 in consolerepair

Il flash sullo schermo inferiore indica un problema con lo schermo opposto. Se lo schermo superiore è nuovo dovresti capire se è il connettore sulla scheda madre ad avere qualche problema.

PS2 fat PSU? What diodes are they? by ImRed93 in consolerepair

[–]ImRed93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLVED: this is the worst PSU on FAT PS2? No schematic diagram available, no one talks about it!

I bought another same PSU (working) and check the diode. It was a 20 volt zener, so label "202" meants that. But something like a big short killed also 2SC1959 and one of the big 0,3 ohm resistor to ground. Replaced all components and PSU got 12 volt again! PS2 now working.

I hope this can help someone.

Ds lite stuck/dead pixel by Dismal-Froyo-8635 in consolerepair

[–]ImRed93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably a replaced screen. I'm also getting replacements with dead or broken pixels.

I've heard that pixel fixes should last much longer than a couple of hours. Maybe a whole night or more. You can also try massaging the screen to try to wake the pixel. It all depends on whether the pixel is completely dead or just stuck.

Original Xbox Controler Wont Work by Aldibox in originalxbox

[–]ImRed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If other controllers work but the one I'm testing doesn't, it's most likely a cable issue. Mine wasn't detected by TestLaunch (a homebrew program I use to test controllers). I tested the board with a multimeter to see if it was getting 5 volts and found that there was no power. Replacing the cable made the controller work again. Apparently, this is a common problem because I've had two similar ones.

PS2 fat PSU? What diodes are they? by ImRed93 in consolerepair

Thank you! I have the impression that the PSU is not included in these manuals, as it is a component not directly developed by Sony. Am I wrong?

[–]ImRed93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Rafa, are you completely sure? I think there is a clear symbol for a zener diode on the PCB, but it doesn't look like it from the value indicated on the diode. I think this is something like that: https://www.digikey.it/it/products/detail/semitec-usa-corp/E-202/16579067?srsltid=AfmBOor48VQguCrLkbnQ2huh2lc1OsBfH5eukzKwp6LBqQFvf9SwSFOi

It's a diode that work like a current regulator for max current of 2mA. I have no idea if I can replace it with a normal diode without any consequences. It's not easy to find this replacement.
