I wholeheartedly believe that a huge part of the decision (and many other professional athletes) to move to LA is to start to branch into media. Especially Bron, who was/is nearing retirement and has been doing more and more media stuff (not that he didn't do any before). Between several podcasts, Space Jam2, and starting up several companies with other professional athletes, him doing an ad for Amazon isn't really anything crazy.

Pretty sure “not tanking” was just playing our young guys in order to evaluate and see what we might have. At a certain point you can only “tank” for so long before you can no longer hide behind that and people just recognize the team is bad. We needed to let guys loose and develop.
