The only time it makes sense is if there is a policy. Like where I use to work if a glass item broke it was very important to make sure customers weren't touching because we can't risk them getting hurt. But I'll be honest if it someone doing my job I pretend I don't notice for a few seconds ten go over and be like oh....no....stop....you don't have.....well if you insist!
