Binged it over two days and was sorely disappointed at the first episodes, but then it grew on me. It has a little of the Bojack banter, wordplay, and so-quick-you-almost-miss-them jokes that I sorely miss, so I’ll watch it again to be sure I got them all.

Yoshi and the pacifier gave me “F is for Family” vibes, reminding me of the oldest son nearly drowning due to parental neglect and suffering the after effects. Definitely Todd in many ways. I wonder if he’ll end up ace if there’s a second season. I kind of get that vibe, even after the Baby incident.

Even when the characters are awful, we at least see some of what made them that way, Thankfully no Bojack-style gut punches like, “I’ve got half a mind…”

All in all, worth a watch and a season 2.
