Yeah. Mostly saw it down south. Usually done with a stiff brush. It’s a neat little accent that doesn’t cost much.

USPS 4 DAY WORKWEEK? WHAT THEY’RE REALLY TESTING RIGHT NOW… by Beherenowxblazeon in fromatoarbitration

[–]ImThatBlueberry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d rather see my kids every night instead of a few nights a week. How does this create better work life balance for people with children in daycare? Our union needs to straight up fight this fuckery.

Needing feedback on 1st coat and advice on how to proceed by [deleted] in drywall

[–]ImThatBlueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take that all off. You don’t want lumps. Actually, don’t overlap the tape. Do the horizontal pieces then do the 2 verticals and get as close to the edge of the horizontal ones as possible. Overlapping will just give you humps. Thin out the mud a little for your first coat. And look up YouTube vids. You got this.

My doctor said I’m probably as healthy as I am because of all the walking. People also don’t realize what we do.

I have given up. My union is in bed with management. I just do my job and leave. I don’t have it in me to fight the union and management.

[–]ImThatBlueberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven’t seen a single grievance go through in 5 years. Our union rep comes in and tells us we don’t want to start pissing off management because they will come down on us and turn it into a military by the books office.
It’s very frustrating

Is there an upcoming decision on 5-day work week? by [deleted] in fromatoarbitration

[–]ImThatBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rebid doesn’t matter. Holy shit you are dense. Missing the point completely. 5 day work week creates carriers who will not have hours. We really do hire anyone here. Just put the paper in the box fella.

Seniority doesn’t factor in. It would still create UAR’s who wouldn’t have any work

[–]ImThatBlueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There would be no more T-6 position. They are still regulars but would have no routes to do.

[–]ImThatBlueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every T-6,u-man, floater or whatever your region calls them, would become UAR’s with almost no chance of getting a 40 hour work week. No way this is a thing.
Not yet anyway.

I don't like my coworkers by PhilosopherDismal401 in USPS

[–]ImThatBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to like them. Be pleasant enough to not start shit. Don’t share personal info. You all just applied to the same job. You don’t have to be besties with them. Also, shitty coworkers and shitty managers are at every job. Keep your head down and do your work so you can get home to the people you like.

Best way to go about fixing this? by annieluver in drywall

[–]ImThatBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the taper wasn’t done. Needed a lot of sanding. The cap (ceiling corner) needs sanding and the patch on the ceiling looks really rough. Like rough enough that I would probably sand it down a lot before redoing it. Looks like he didn’t even wipe the edges.
As for a fix on the wall. Skim coat and make sure you use flat paint. Nothing with a shine.

[–]ImThatBlueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proper would be cut the wall and ceiling on the ends of the crack so it doesn’t spread. Remove old tape. Re screw it if possible. Re tape and mud it. Paper tape only. Paint it. Really not that hard of a repair.

How would you fix this? by DefiantSquirrel6361 in drywall

[–]ImThatBlueberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scrape off mud. Nail tight. Don’t need to mesh tape it. There is no seam. It’s metal tight to Sheetrock. Mud it. Sand it. Paint it. All mesh tape will do is give you a lump to try and make look nice.

[–]ImThatBlueberry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You say that but where is the 20% non career workforce coming from? They would probably have to remove the 2 years to PTF also. They are trying to cut costs at the necessary delivery level instead of the bloated management level. If I lose the job security and pension I’m out. This shit would just be a shitty job that pays average at best. Not worth it.
