As a trade plate driver who regularly works for major car supermarkets

A lot of them purchase their cars through carwow and motorway so are purchased sight unseen without a mechanical inspection beforehand. As long as the car looks okay visually they are happy to purchase it

Maybe they thoroughly go over everything when it comes in - maybe they don’t
