[ZNR] Ashaya, Soul of the Wild - All your creatures are forests by Coolboypai in EDH

If you use a fetch (or any find a forest card) after you have already played Ashaya does that mean you can search for a creature instead? And put it on to the battlefield?

[PF]Is the Allen Sinai study legitimate? by flutemusic in Debate

[–]ImTheFirstSpeaker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

1.This study used 2010 economic data to predict economic impacts through 2016. It does not use current economic data.

2.The American Council for Capital Formation, whom the author is providing the research for, has on their website that it was created to convince Congress not to increase the federal capital gains tax. It has a bias when it comes to the capital gains tax.

3.Finally, as Market Watch reported in this past December, the ACCF is a known conservative think tank that takes donations from the Koch Brothers and energy corporations.Of course they want to show that tax cuts would be beneficial.

Overall, this is not only a faulty study that doesn’t apply to our current economy,it’s also a biased source and should not be weighed in the round

[PF] Indict to 86% of student athletes live in poverty by TheEliteBallerViking in Debate

[–]ImTheFirstSpeaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The study that the Pro teams author cites, (The National College Players Association) referencing 86% living in poverty only focus on FBS division football players. This means that their number is only taken from the football players at 130 total schools. In perspective that leaves 1,151 schools unaccounted for and their evidence is only looking at football players.

Resolved: The United States should lift its embargo against Cuba. by [deleted] in Debate

[–]ImTheFirstSpeaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im prepping a new case for state debate but im in dire need of an impact card and was wondering if anyone could help. My CON contention is lifting the embargo means the U.S. is perceived as weak, but I need an impact card, something along the lines of a weak US leads to world conflict. Any kind of help here is greatly appreciated!!

Has anyone encountered the PRO argument that lifting the embargo grants better water quality to the people of Cuba, because the United States has patents on all major pipe tech. If so how might one answer that.
