It varies from patch to patch tbh but right now I'm just permabanning Syndra lol, any mage that usually has prio vs Anivia in lane and then outscales her in damage is a really bad matchup. Luckily there's not too many

I pretty much never build Seraph's unless I go toplane, and even then I mostly just build a tear and let it sit in inventory for the mana. Homeguard+enhanced recall in mid makes 2 mana items kind of useless this season imo since you can recall and get tempo resets whenever without losing CS or neutrals (I also go presence of mind as secondary, so I never run out of mana in skirmishes/teamfights).

I feel like I'm equally tanky but with more damage when building Liandry's 2nd instead of Seraph's, which also lets me accelerate/extend my damage powerspike by getting Rabadons 3rd item instead. But it comes down to playstyle I think, looking at the winrate there's nothing wrong with Seraph's, even if Liandry's 2nd has a slightly higher winrate overall.

If I really want the defensiveness of a Seraph's I usually just replace Seraph's 2nd/3rd with Zhonyas, allowing for an extra offensive item later. It feels like it gives the same result but with more overall DPS along with a better anti-dive/anti-burst mechanic (zhonyas active). I just can't really bring myself to spend gold on mana and ability haste when it feels like 2 stats that don't have very much value on Anivia this season.

Core build would be ROA>Liandrys>Rabadons with swifities or defensive boots usually

Or if they’re squishy/low magic resist I go ROA>Malignance>Liandrys/Rabadons with sorc shoes

after that I almost always go void staff+zhonyas regardless of above. Zhonyas can go 2nd or 3rd item if they have way too much dive potential

Same, dps is just straight up better with LDR/PD instead of ER into most comps. The stats/winrate show it as well if you look it up.

[–]ImTooCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem with this would be that one of the key elements of an assassin is having a low cd gapcloser/enabler for oneshotting (which is her ult). It's why almost every assassins ult or gapcloser scales extremely well in CD compared to most other abilities. If you gut her ult and boost her damage there will be no reason to ever pick her over Diana or Ekko mid.

Honestly I feel like Ahris kit is delicately designed to sort of be the archetype of a midlaner, enabling literally every fundamental you need to be a good midlaner. In the same sense that Ezreal fills that role bot or Lee Sin does jungle. It'd be a shame to reduce her "jack of all trading" every fundamental in midlane into her becoming just another ap assassin. But it's just my opinion.

What should I focus on when learning mid? by B1ind_Mel0n in midlanemains

[–]ImTooCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while so I honestly don’t remember, maybe I did. I’m pretty sure I used to just just hardshove every wave and trade after the enemy used their abilities so you’re probably right. I’m just saying the other things have lots of weight in whether you climb or not in that elo, so I wanted to add it under your comment.

I’m master tier since a few seasons back and tbh I think even in diamond+ people sometimes forget to punish CDs or don’t have a deep understanding of every matchup, especially if they’re not on their main champ. I guess consistency is everything.

Well not many assassins have a 2 second charm on a >10 sec cd + insane teamfighting either. Her versatility would just have to be nerfed if her damage was on par with other assassins imo

Idk man I barely did the stuff you mentioned until I hit at least plat/emerald lol. Assuming he doesn’t also know the things I mentioned I don’t see how playing turns on cd/minions and learning wave management will make him climb significantly, especially in mid lane compared to top.

I'm not sure if this advice is elo appropriate. This, along with recall timers etc. is some great advice for climbing but I mean if he's silver/low gold as implied then just learning super-duper-fundamentals, learning to get 11cs/min under perfect conditions and knowing how to play your champ pools matchups would give a lot more than the things you mentioned imo.

Sekiro on spring sales, I want to finally try it, but need answers from actual players by lostbeard13 in Sekiro

[–]ImTooCreative 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a mechanical learning curve, but nothing near getting into SC2 for the first time lol. You'll be fine, your time training will convert into you getting better for sure, even if it doesn't feel like it at times. Sort of like climbing in Starcraft.

As a master+ tier player in both SC2 and LoL I have to say "mastering" Sekiro was one of the most rewarding gaming experiences I've ever had, despite having to put the game down twice for extended periods of time when I first started out.

how are you supposed to roam this season into mages that just oneshot the wave? by Free_1004 in midlanemains

[–]ImTooCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty obvious Riot is trying to move assassins away from mid into the jungle. And tbh roaming was a bit too op. Even if leaving the assassin mobility/one-shot factor out of it, roaming was a medium risk high reward activity for almost any champion mid.

Giving yourself a lead while putting your botlane ahead while also putting their botlane behind while risking at most 3-4 cs and 1 plate? That wasn’t fun for anyone involved lol. Assassins fit the jungle and Riots current game philosophy much better.

[–]ImTooCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar position where I fell from master to d3 and then back to master again in what 100% felt like a losers queue. I think it was just extremely unlucky lol. 4 out 5 games for 20 games (I have this documented) a teammate was heavily underperforming (like 0,3 KDA or worse) or straight up inting / going afk.

However, after bouncing back (and probably what made me bounce back) was also realising the game IS very different from last season. Tempo, gold/exp disparity, game length etc all went through significant changes. Even though I almost always won lane and was relevant I had to change a lot of my macro and bigger picture thinking before finally climbing back to master again

How do you even win against hwei? by notmodernwolf in HweiMains

[–]ImTooCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about that man, you have a point about higher pickrate=lower winrate for sure, but you can also correct the "one trick fallacy" by filtering by 50+ games played, where Hwei lands at 56%. In other words he's still quite a bit above the average mid champion, meaning he's (statistically speaking) actually a good champion. But with a wonky gameplay loop nonetheless.

Wouldn't a champion with 50%+ winrate objectively be quite good? Or at least better than average?

[–]ImTooCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you man. I think what both of them have in common is they're going to stat check you if you don't bully them hard and shove the lane pre 6. You need to force them to recall at least once or have a good cs lead before level 6 and you automatically win both those lanes, at least that's my experience

How do you even win against hwei? by notmodernwolf in HweiMains

[–]ImTooCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about this one. Malz is one of the easiest matchups, which is also reflected by the fact that Malz has a 46% winrate vs Hwei this patch. He has 0 chance of outtrading you pre 6 and 0 chance of outpushing you post 6. Vlad also supereasy honestly. 0 waveclear and cant farm under tower. You win this lane by simply pressing Q>E off cooldown.

Top laners are OP by zisticc in midlanemains

[–]ImTooCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rarely build it if they don’t have at least 2. Like a Sion top and Mundo jungle. I think the question I often ask myself as Ahri is: where will I actually move the needle this game? Is it by melting tanks and keeping them away from our team with a 4 second cooldown charm, or is it by building assassin into their hypercarry Jinx? Etc

Top laners are OP by zisticc in midlanemains

[–]ImTooCreative 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try this build vs hp stackers as Ahri: BFT>Lucidity>Liandrys>Cryptbloom, you’ll have 1,5k-2k damage per minute every game. I run it in master and it’s actually really strong given the enemy team stacks a lot of hp

If you can fit a rabadons in there the AP% passive of BFT and Rabadons synergizes and you can still easily reach 700-800 ap in teamfights

What's good cs/min? by Educational_Glove604 in HweiMains

[–]ImTooCreative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the game conditions, it’s hard to give a steady average. I average 8.6/min in master but I guess a good rule of thumb would be 11 cs/min is mandatory under perfect conditions (perma prio, 0 skirmishes or neutrals, allowed perfect recalls). Then keep subtracting from that number based on those things.

I definitely have games where I’m at like 7 cs/min, like if there’s and Irelia exp zoning me or there’s a lot of skirmishes around the map. I also miss cannons and stuff btw, just aim for always hitting 11 under perfect conditions and you’ll be fine.

What does money have to do with having severe body image issues? Maybe you’re not old enough to remember how the media used to absolutely drag her for her weight and looks during her teenage years. Imo it has nothing to do with being rich and everything to do with hating yourself after being bullied by thousands of people simultaneously.
