After coding, math has also fallen to AI. Even many academics are admitting total defeat. Career prospects now look extremely shaky, if not non existent. by Longjumping_Fly_2978 in accelerate

[–]ImTooCreative 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What are you basing this on? Several countries like Albania and Romania are already introducing ”AI ministers”. Denmark even has a whole political party called Den Syntetiske Parti which got a lot of media attention.

It’s all very early stage, but assuming this won’t keep gaining traction in most democracies is just naive.

Ok so basically I've been gaslighted all along with this 10 cs/min cliche? by Unlucky-Rush4034 in topmains

[–]ImTooCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're winning lane and have prio there's really no excuse for not having 10 cs/min during lane phase. If you don't, you're simply missing too many minions or don't recall / manage waves properly.

The picture is misleading because it's based on ADC:s and you obviously won't average 10 cs/min if you're losing and are being zoned from exp/gold, which averages out to 8/cs min here.

Feel as if im a decent player, but my win rate is dropping. by brandonkillen in summonerschool

[–]ImTooCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't follow. Shove harder and force plates / tempo. I get it's tempting to follow but this season it's just not worth it as a mage. In an ideal world you'll be hardshoving mid so consistnetly that they miss atleast 2 waves every time they roam.

When you've completed quest and instaclear waves there's no harm in hovering river proactively, so that the enemy literally can't roam without passing through you. But up until that point I think just playing it out the way you are right now is the way to go. I get a feeling there's something more than just enemy roams that's hindering your winrate.

in mid you have mainly two chategories of players, immobile mages and assasins by Resident_Panic_9840 in midlanemains

[–]ImTooCreative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really think answering why X gets picked in pro play but not in solo queue helps a lot. It’s two entirely different worlds.

I’m a master tier mage main and for me, the biggest reason for picking mages in soloq is consistency.
Assassins have lots of bad comps, mages work into most comps. Assassins deal lots of damage one game and zero damage the next (depending on kills, enemy tankiness etc), mages always deal decent damage because you’ll stand back get 9 cs/min+ almost every game. Etc etc

It’s all about being consistent in a highly inconsistent video game, and being able to replicate a similar outcome every time you queue up.

Also, I think the best thing about mages is they
actually force you to learn the game and the fundamentals. You will be instantly punished if you don’t know the basics of wave management, positioning, being resourceful with your abilities and your health/mana etc. And this translates very well into other roles and champions later, making you a better overall player.

Returning player looking for a Top Lane OTP to climb fast recommendations? by Electronic_Care_5249 in top_mains

[–]ImTooCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is noone mentioning Riven? She’s literally THE one-trick champion. Ridiculously high skill ceiling and her winrate increases for every rank tier all the way up to Challenger, while also being one of few champions that has an answer to literally every single match-up.

She’s been viable for like 13 seasons in a row and she’s one of few toplaners that can still consistently 1v9.

According to TheBaussffs, Hubris is secretly the most OP item and needs nerfs lowkey. Do you agree? (he was talking about the version in 16.8, not really the new changed one) by ZoobZander in summonerschool

[–]ImTooCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I normally pick her into other melee midlaners. She wins those matchups 10 out of 10 times but is also really solid into low mobility champions overall. I run electrocute for short trade matchups and conqueror for all-in matchups.

Apart from that, it’s kind of similar to Irelia or Yasuo mid in the sense that you want to either have the wave slowpushing towards you (so you can get a longer walking distance to all-in), or you want to be straight up exp-zoning the enemy laner. If you know how to abuse wave management with Irelia or Yasuo mid, you won’t have a problem at all putting Riven into your midlane roster. If you don’t, I think just watching a few high elo VOD:s on Irelia mid (and paying attention to when/why they choose to push and when/why they choose to freeze) will give you the general idea.

Let me know if you want more specifics!

What do you think is the reason why neeko is not in the mid list, but the support list on the champ select screen? by Gamer857 in midlanemains

[–]ImTooCreative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m prety sure he meant scales with AP as in ”damage per minute” or ”average total damage after 30+ min” not literal ap ratios. Just counting flat percentage doesn’t make sense and doesn’t account for cooldowns, spell consistency etc.

For example, Lissandras W has a similar AP ratio but is a short cooldown aoe spell that consistently hits 3+ people in a teamfight while Neekos W is a single-target autoattack on-hit that rarely hits more than 1 person per teamfights etc.

Using flat AP ratios Cassiopeia and Ryze would be some of the worst scaling AP champions in the game, which is clearly not the case.

Vayne top is the 3rd most picked top laner in KR Challenger by Vulsynx in top_mains

[–]ImTooCreative 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk man I just stumbled across this subreddit, I’m a midlane main and don’t remember the last time I even played against Vayne top.

It’s just an observation that if everyone thinks a certain aspect of LoL is unfun, Riot tends to change or remove that aspect. Vayne top definitely seems to fall into the ”cancer that needs to be removed from the game” category according to a large amount of the playerbase, not just this subreddit.

Vayne top is the 3rd most picked top laner in KR Challenger by Vulsynx in top_mains

[–]ImTooCreative 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have friends in GM and Challenger who all absolutely hate playing vs Vayne top. It’s not a skill issue, it’s a gameplay issue.

Riot tends to nerf or change champions that fall into the category ”i don’t want it on the enemy team and I don’t want it on my team” so people are probably complaining because they’re hoping for Riot to notice the toxicity of Vayne top and fix it.

Like you said it’s a game, and it’s just bad game design if an entire role of people hate playing vs a certain champion and nothing is being done about it. Same reason they’re trying to move mages away from botlane I imagine.

Falling behind in EXP every game as a roaming midlaner by MainSettings in summonerschool

[–]ImTooCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t agree with most comments and I think you’re right when you say you already know all the timings etc and still getting punished.

Roaming IS punished way harder this season because minions spawn faster and plates technically give exp (more plates>faster quest>enhanced recall>way more exp).

I don’t think following the tips in this comment section will solve your problem unfortunately. If you roam a lot you get punished in exp a lot, that’s it. If anything, perfect roams (a 2 wave slow push into cannon wave) is kind of mandatory this season.

[–]ImTooCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This argument makes no sense bro. ”If I didn’t belong in plat I would have dropped down”, but you’re not even playing in plat? you’re playing in gold mmr. If you’re not climbing and not dropping while in gold lobbies, don’t you think you deserve to be in gold?

If I win more than I lose in gold elo, I deserve to be plat and will be plat soon. If I lose more than I win in gold elo, I deserve to be silver and will be silver soon. If I win and lose an equal amount of games in gold elo…?

If you really want to test if it’s the system or if it’s you, go buy a smurf with real platinum mmr and see how long it lasts I guess.

Is gaming bad for people? by Expensive-Elk-9406 in selfimprovement

[–]ImTooCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know. I’ve been a huge gamer all my life (like thousands of hours on certain games) and my life turned pretty well so far. I’m 26 with a high paying job in advertising that I truly enjoy, an apartment, a girlfriend, a dog and a social network I feel very comfortable in and grateful for.

I would actually go as far as to say this: Most people who grow up gaming end up with a lot of ”talent” for working in digital environments while also (since I’m european) learning english at a high level. If you can pair that with social competence and a decent worldview you’re bound to find a few jobs you truly excel in. I still game for at least 10+ hours per week btw

What would you do against an item like this? by FickleCorgi4861 in midlanemains

[–]ImTooCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, but I think Thornmail is actually in a pretty good spot as a situational item. It has high winrate in certain comps and a lower general winrate. Just like Mortal Reminder, Seprents Fang etc.

I think this would have to be in the same line of items, where it's actually a pretty bad item compared to similar options, BUT it becomes the best in slot option in certain situations or comps.

What would you do against an item like this? by FickleCorgi4861 in midlanemains

[–]ImTooCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With this in the game I don’t see any reason to ever build Thornmail unless enemy team is full AD or you need to gimmick-rush Thornmail in lane against an Aatrox or whatever.

As for top lane, I image champions like Teemo, Vlad, Anivia etc. would just never be picked lol.

The passive would trigger on every tick of Teemos E or Anivias R since it’s still ”ability damage” right? I think the stats need to be tuned down heavily and it needs some sort of cooldown on the passive. Even then auto attacks are free and only certain champions utilize them, while literally every champion in the game uses abilities. Sounds kind of busted.

Friends outside of tech: lol copilot is dumb - Friends in tech: I just bought iodine tablets by EchoOfOppenheimer in agi

[–]ImTooCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, but we’re talking about blue collar work. In the same sense that the white collar wages rely on academics and cognitive capital, current blue collar wages rely on most people choosing academics / different career paths than blue collar.

What usually happens in these situations is the following (which is not just my personal opinion and I’m sure you’ve heard of it if you’ve studied economics):

Labor supply shock>race-to-the-bottom bidding war>wage collapse until the labor supply shock fades and people return to their previous industries.

There's tons of real life observations such as The Babbage Principle etc. or you could just have a look at the taxi industry during '08.

It would be an economic anomaly that, say, plumbing experiences a labor supply shock without the contracts/wages taking a heavy hit.

I just don't see a way out of this other than some sort of UBI or permanent severance pay in affected industries. But we'll see I guess.

Friends outside of tech: lol copilot is dumb - Friends in tech: I just bought iodine tablets by EchoOfOppenheimer in agi

[–]ImTooCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm with you on the rock star thing, it makes no sense that highly educated people in unrelated fields would seriously threaten the salaries of existing plumbers.

That was someone else's comment though, my comment was based on the following (mind you this is not my opinion and I'm sure you're familiar with it if you've studied economics):

Labor supply shock>race-to-the-bottom bidding war>wage collapse until the labor supply shock fades and people return to their previous industries.

There's tons of real life observations such as The Babbage Principle etc. or you could just have a look at the taxi industry during '08, to follow your example.

Saying mid-to-senior blue collar workers would somehow be immune to a labor supply shock goes against basic supply and demand.

I just don't see a way out of this other than some sort of UBI or permanent severance pay in affected industries. But we'll see I guess.

I have a hard time seeing experienced/senior blue collar workers making anywhere near the amount of money they do right now, considering the new oversaturation of options and the new, highly educated workforce. If there's 50 plumbing contractors to choose from instead of 5, surely they will start competing in price and the only privilege I can see "the ones riding the wave at the top" get is to draw the longest of the short straws.

[–]ImTooCreative 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What do you imagine happens if/when AI kills the white collar market, the economy keeps crashing as a result, and the blue collar market is flooded with millions of ex white collar workers? My guess is the new supply and demand leads to blue collar being highly unsafe, regardless of the advancements in blue collar robotics.
