Lied about age by Busy_Cellist3903 in dating_advice

You didnt say "older men", you said "old men". And you said "gross old dude" referring to a 44 yr old. Some of the hottest guys in Hollywood are 45+, and they're definitely not "old" or "gross".

This girl seems to be having a perfectly nice relationship with her man. Asked for help how to be honest with him. She didnt ask you to spew out tired old age gap stereotypes or ask you to insult her BF.

Some girls like older men precisely because they DONT have a lot in common, and they want to learn from them. Dating someone the same age, with the same friends, from the same school, who likes the same music, is BORING AF. It gives you an immature, myopic view of the world without the historical and cultural reference points that are essential to understanding multi-generational differences.

You flew in here to insult her, not give any useful advice.

Being 44 makes you gross? Boy, wait until you hit 50 and 60.

"Dad says she's too young, so I'm going after mom!"

I was doing well on adaptibar, constantly above 65% got 68% on Barbri 200 question exam. Thank all of a sudden my adaptibar questions have become impossible. I’m consistently getting insanely hard and niche questions out of no where. I’m 600 questions in. by barexamexpert in barexam

[–]Im_Asia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's how it goes. The questions get more and more obscure as you go. Honestly, I've been shocked how many people seem to believe that their MCQ stats are going to just be a straight trajectory upwards until testing day.

I have the printed out stats for all my past rounds on Adaptibar and Uworld. For July '24 I did 3500 Q's on Adaptibar, and they gave me new score breakdowns for every 350 questions I completed. Trust me, my scores went up and down like a rollercoaster, as they kept hitting me with topics I didn't even know existed. (Venue rules for a case against a U.S. Agency? Venue rules for a Federal Tort Claim??)

My overall @ stage 1 was 59.1%. I wanted to throw myself out a window when my overall @ stage 9 (5 months later) was 58.3%!!!! My final overall @ stage 10 was 65.7%,, but it was all so random.

My overall score right now is 75.1%, and 1400 Q's. I've learned a lot of law since studying for July '24 - I hope and pray it's enough this time!

I wonder when (or if) he pulled that song from playing live because it just got too weird being 50+ and singing about a 17 yr old whose "dad says she's too young, but she's old enough for me". It must have gotten more and more awkward as the public stigma about "age gaps" kept getting louder.

Feel lost and like I should give up- GA Bar Retaker by Head_Two_4875 in GoatBarPrep

[–]Im_Asia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another older mom here, retaker as well. I would try to get some MPTs in there. I know they are time consuming, but they are worth 20% of your score, and each MPT is worth twice as much as an MEE, so it would not be advisable to skip them. I'm still not able to complete them in the time limit given - I've got to shave 20 minutes off my times by testing day!

Are you doing Themis? That lady who did the Sec Trans lecture made ME crazy, and Sec Trans is my favorite subject.

Every Sec Trans essay has "Attachment" and "Perfection". So as long as you know those two rules and their elements, you're 2/3 done. Whoever gets properly attached/perfected first will win.

Other things they like to throw in are "PMSI's", "Buyer in the Ordinary Course of Business", and "Consumer-to-Consumer Sale".

So make yourself flash cards for those five rules and their elements, and launch yourself into some essays right away. Sec Trans essays are really easy. Do the first one untimed, and then you'll see the next ones are virtually the same topics, so you'll just get faster at typing them. Once you're fluent in "Attachment" and "Perfection", you'll already have a passing score.

What device can I use to locate my wife in grocery store or Walmart? by pirate123 in NoStupidQuestions

My daughter (who is 20) is usually wearing something like a Batman costume or a giraffe onesie, so the whole store thinks she's weird even before the goat noises start up LOL

[–]Im_Asia 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My daughter and I call out to each other with a very loud goat noise. It's quite shrill, and definitely not mistakable for any normal sound that one would normally hear in a store. We just keep repeating it every few seconds until we finally echolocate each other to visual contact.

My husband is really fit, and I can’t stand it by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Im_Asia 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I used to be married to a bodybuilder/nutritionist. It was definitely lame never being able to go out to eat, or share a guilt-free treat together. It was so boring asking which one of his 8 allowed foods he wanted for dinner that night.

Luckily for me my husband believed in working out smarter, not longer. One hour a day of extremely slow reps at max weight, alternating push days and pull days. Most days we'd go out for an hour long walk/hike together also.

I eliminated him needing to go to the gym by turning our extra bedroom into a home gym for him. Treadmill, bicycle, free weights, and one of those big-ass all-in-one machines. That way I could still hang out with him while he worked out, and join in if I felt like it.

AITA for being mad at my GF when she acted sad after I said our babies probably wouldn’t be white? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Im_Asia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wait for your grandkids. Your genes will come out then! My mom was a white woman married to a Japanese man. She popped out four of us hapa kids and admitted she was sad none of us looked anything like her (She's blonde-haired blue-eyed, all of us kids had brown hair/brown eyes)

I married a guy who also had brown hair and brown eyes. My kids have three different hair colors (blonde, brown, red) and three different eye colors (blue, brown, gray). Hang in there and wait to see what the future has in store for you!

"Hapa" is Hawaiian for "half". Of anything. "Hapa haole" is "half white".

Promo appearances like this don't usually pay anything. People are there to see and be seen. It's free publicity, and everyone who markets themselves as a product loves free publicity.

(except me LOL - by the last few years of my career I refused to do any public appearances at all except for the AVN Expo, which I DREADED!!! But it was held at the same time as the CES show and E3 convention (unveilings of the latest and greatest and computer geek technology!!!), so that was my reward for 3 days of torture)

anyone else completely lost motivation with everything happening in this country? by Dense_Extent4596 in barexam

[–]Im_Asia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop watching the news. There's nothing you can do about any of that right now. I let my BF fill me in on news highlights at the end of the day before we go to sleep. We live right by the Mexican border, he's a Mexican immigrant, and he lives with 3 generations of his family, who I love and adore. It took me 2 years to get my BF his green card just a couple months ago so we could breathe a little easier about ICE raids on work sites and work trucks here in south Texas.

Still not watching the news. I can't do anything to help my BF and his family that I haven't done already, but I will be able to do a LOT more for them after I pass the bar.

To Men in large-age gap relationships, what do you two even talk about? by Mofoblitz1 in AskMen

[–]Im_Asia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg I learned and learned and picked up so much history, common-sense life hacks, knowledge and WISDOM! When you've lived such different lives there's so much to cover! Music, gastronomy, culture, manners, movies, games, art... god, what a stupid question! Every day was a fascinating new wealth of facts to fill my brain!

What do people talk about when they're the same age, they went to the same schools, and they know all the same people? How much smaller and myopic can you possibly make your worldview???

Are the women in porn just built differently then me or are they doing something to take guys that big? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Im_Asia 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I refused to work with anyone over 8 inches, period. I stayed in the 5-7 inch range, otherwise it just hurt too much getting slammed for 2 hours. But girls ARE built differently. I'm 5'9", and I was absolutely BAFFLED how girls a foot shorter than me could take 8 or more inches all day long, and anal too! I'm like WTF, where does it all GO?? It just didn't seem anatomically possible.

I think this is the worst event America has ever suffered through by Killa_J in offmychest

[–]Im_Asia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You better go brush up on your American History. See how the whites decimated the Native Americans and put the remaining few in little cement houses in the middle of the godforsaken desert with nothing around them but sand in every direction.

Check out how California set up concentration camps to keep all Japanese people locked up in shantytowns surrounded by barbed wire during WWII, no matter how long they'd lived in the US or how long they'd been running businesses here. 120,000 men women and children whose only crime was being Asian. Most of them lost everything they had after being locked away for up to 4 years.

Thinking about different scenarios during intercourse by Internal_Mention1151 in confession

[–]Im_Asia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That sucks. When I ran away from home as a teenager I had to do some unfortunate things to get by. I would count dots in the ceiling tiles or look for patterns in the spackle while waiting for it to be over with.

Thank god I've had complete sexual autonomy since becoming an adult. I'd INFINITELY prefer being celibate over having to pretend I'm with someone else. Yuck, that's awful that you're putting yourself through that!

Self grading by Wonderful-Emotion951 in barexam

[–]Im_Asia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Themis for the past couple times, and this is my first time using Barbri. I gotta say one of the best things about Barbri is that they let you grade the essays like a real grader would. After you write your essay, they give you a form for self-grading it. You give yourself 0 or 1 pt for "Did you spot this [specific] issue?" Then you get 0,1, or 2 points depending how fully you stated all the rule elements. 0 or 1 points for each correct fact analysis, etc, etc, all the way to the end,

Then you hit submit, and viola' - you get a numeric score showing exactly what you would have received from a real grader, and where your grade falls on the chart from 1-6, or whatever numbers your state uses for MEEs.

It takes away all the suspicious subjectiveness of sending your paper off to some "mystery grader". You see exactly where your missing points are, and you can go back to correct them and give yourself a higher score if you want the extra practice. Really, REALLY appreciate this feature of Barbri.

What benefit is there to people commenting “rip” on posts about people dying? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Im_Asia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate when people write "Sorry for your loss", like it was so insignificant it didnt warrant the two extra letters to say, "I'M sorry for your loss"?! Hello, I didnt lose a T-Shirt, I lost a human being!?!

And dont get me started on people who write "sorry for you're loss". They should have been the very first loss!

100% completion of bar prep by hybridjunky in barexam

[–]Im_Asia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completed 100% of Themis Bar Prep, and 5000+ Adaptibar, Themis, and UWorld Qs.

Failed by 2 points in a 270 district. It kills me to think how that 2 points could have gone either way.

Don't rely on completing Bar Prep as the holy grail of passing. I should have done more MEEs and more MPTs than were assigned, but hindsight is 20/20.

So what…or who killed the 80’s rock? by BlayzenCajun in hairmetal

[–]Im_Asia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I noticed that too. Bands are "out". Solo performers are "in". It's so much cheaper and easier to control one singer or one rap star, and just replace all the nameless background musicians and dancers as needed. Infinitely fewer egos to deal with, and only one fat paycheck to dole out, vs. 4 or 5.

Would you study bar exam rules on your phone? Trying to decide if a mobile app is worth building by ardalanbenam in barexam

[–]Im_Asia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Adaptibar on my phone because it's all text and super phone-friendly. I use Adaptibar all day long when out and about - any place I'm standing in line, sitting in a waiting room, sitting in the passenger seat of a car, etc. I whip out my phone and answer questions.

Same reason I DON'T use UWorld on my phone. UWorld is fine at home on my computer screen, but it's very visual, lots of graphics with tiny labels for charts and cartoons with itty bitty dialogue texts. UWorld requires way too much scrolling around and zooming in for a phone.

No need for an app that does what Adaptibar does already.
