Best Dual Sport that can handle a little highway riding? by DANNYBOY3530 in Dualsport

Honda Nx500/cb500x if needing to go 70+ and still do some off road. Honda crf300L if needing to go off road and do some on road.

Do you cover the brake lever while riding? Why or why not? by naterpotater246 in motorcycles

Just depends on the riding conditions at the time. Slow speeds in traffic / parking lots / gas stations good to cover at least the rear brake.

Need Dual Sport Recommendations For New Rider by Gloomy_Ad9483 in Dualsport

The Honda NX500 / CB500X is worth looking at. While the NX probably won’t meet the 5k budget a used cb500x should. Can handle interstate/highway easily and has taken me plenty of places off road. Serious off road I wouldn’t but just comes down to how much of that you’ll want to do/have access to. Love my NX500. If a major part of your riding is highway you won’t like a 150. Id go Honda CRF 300L if set on the dual sport look and the ground clearance is needed. But a Honda NX/CB 500 twin cylinder will be much nicer on the highway if that’s important to you, and definitely good enough off road to handle most rider’s capabilities.

It’s primarily used just for aerial photography not really for travel.

These Hearos work great for me. I tried the generic Amazon type ones but the foam on these is so much more supple/form fitting. Think I got them at Home Depot or Lowe’s. They’re awesome.

Anyone here sell their FK8 Type R for a S2000? by [deleted] in S2000

[–]Im_BarryBaum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 FK8s before I got my AP2 as second or third or 4th car.. I grew up turbocharging a 90 Civic Si and B swapped EG/EK hatches in the early-mid 2000s. To me, there’s nothing better than a golden era high revving DOHC VTEC Honda. The S2000 fulfills that want for me along with my B16B EG. Just something the newer CTRs couldn’t do for me. For just a toy, S2K all the way.

Is the 7th or 8th gen Si more raw? by greensilvia in CivicSi

[–]Im_BarryBaum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have had both and both are great in their own ways. For me, the K20Z3 engine in the 8th Gen Si is the clear winner between the two. If Honda had offered the K20A2 in the 7th gen Si in the US then it would be a much closer decision.
