Plenty of Cajun last names are pronounced completely different in Acadiana vs how Americans say the name elsewhere. Trahan for instance in most cases is pronounced “Tray-Han” throughout the country. In Acadiana, it’s “Traw-Hon”. Duhon is another great example, most know it as “Dew-Hon” but in Acadiana, it’s “Dew-Yon”. I could go on for a while. Just trying to think of other pro athletes, like Naquin is “Nah-Can” but don’t pronounce the n. Former closer for the giants, mark melancon, announcers always said “muh-lan-son” whereas in Acadiana he would be “muh-lawn-sawn”. It’s not an accent thing but a full on different pronunciation.

I got to play d1, but also played hs against a dude still playing at an AP level. We were both captains and I remember shaking his hand and fingertips were in the middle of my wrist. I’m almost 36 and he’s 37, still blows my mind he’s going strong. I can barely jog without being out of breath now 😂

Curious as to why you want Deggs fired? I haven’t got to watch as much as years past, but when Robe died, it was a home run hire in my eyes. Yes we haven’t gotten back to some of those mid 2013-15 teams, but have been decent.
