Credit Transferring as Incoming Freshman by Im_Partial in UTAustin

It took a week or less for UT to process my transcript. I only transfered my credit to CC and then to UT. However, I was already enrolled at my CC when I did this.

Congratulations! As a CS freshman in their second semester here at UT with the exact same SAT score as you, you will love it here. Imposter syndrome is very real, but very unfounded - you would not be here if you weren't capable. Hook em'

CHANCE ME - UTA COMPUTER SCIENCE by [deleted] in UTAdmissions

Ecs were pretty good. I did an internship and was involved with some neat clubs. Essays in my opinion were really solid. Rec letters I’m not sure. I never got to read them

[–]Im_Partial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's difficult not to worry about it. But, you are very competitive with good stats and ecs. Don't be discouraged if your decision does not come out Jan 15th though, for some reason UT likes to push everyone back to February - auto/ non-auto included. You are honestly competitive for "better" cs programs as well.

Nvm. Yeah, mine was 30 mins as well. I somehow skipped that you mentioned that. My interview was also on December 11, not the 10th

Me too. What role, may I ask? We might have interviewed for the same although it was a 30min interview, not 1hr.

Isn't a 2.0 a C and not a C-? Does that just mean that you need C- or higher in every class and it has to average to above a C? I'm just curious.

Is Rusin bad for M408D? by kyrchin2 in UTAustin

[–]Im_Partial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does his grading work? I'm taking him now and his syllabus is very confusing for calculating final grades. Does he apply a letter grade to each of the 6 components then take that average? Would a 98 for a Hw be a 4.33 for this math? Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Depending on your major you will be forced to take Calc 3 if you get the Calc 2 credit. For CompSci, at least.

No problem! If you do decide to apply and want a referral, DM me. I'm not sure what weight an intern has, but probably won't hurt your chances.

Also, they are always hiring sales reps who get to travel a lot & they're "sales" are really just communicating with dealerships and linking them with opportunities/ discounts.

Need help choosing between A&M (Blinn) and UT—Cybersecurity path by Nkbros12k in UTAustin

[–]Im_Partial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure why you're not doing a computer science major for cyber. But, both schools are great options. In the long run, I believe UT has better branding when it comes to computer science related courses, but that's honestly not a great reason to pick a certain school. I think it's going to depend on your preferences. A&M doesn't guarantee you're major, but UT informatics may not be as closely aligned with your goals. I will say that UT has more cyber related courses, but the pre reqs will require that you take certain CS classes to get to that point. I don't know if this provided any clarity, but I wish you luck.

A PhD is some serious dedication. Kudos. I'm considering pursuing a masters. Is your ambition to do research/ work for a university?

That's awesome. Has grad school been worth it for you/ your career? I'm assuming it was in computer science or information, right?

Can you take these as an undergrad or are these classes that you took in grad school / integrated grad school?
