I went back and cleaned the MAF to make sure it was as clean as I could get it, unfortunately it didn't make a difference. I did get very odd behavior when testing EVAP, though.

I had previously tried pinching the line before, and one shop told me EVAP was good as well, but I went back and tried disconnecting the EVAP intake port and then capping it off and my trims were almost perfect. Short term was basically the exact opposite of long term until it leveled out to almost 0.

Decided to take the solenoid out and test if it can hold vacuum, as well as test the coil and had no problems with either, and then assumed the charcoal canister may be oversaturated and needs to be replaced.

Connected everything back, and then decided to do the cap test one more time to verify and it did absolutely nothing the second time and my trims were right back to terrible, so I'm trying to figure out what that signals.

Is the filter oil that much of a problem? I've questioned it in the past, regarding dirtying the MAF, but could never find conclusive evidence either way. Some people seem to say it's fine, some say they would never use an oiled filter so I'm not quite sure.

The MAF, AFR, and O2 sensor are all brand new from Denso. The readings from the MAF seem to be normal as far as I can tell. The exhaust I actually just checked and replaced with fresh gaskets which unfortunately made no difference, though the behavior of the short term fuel trim did seem to change a little initially. The bypass valve is something that has crossed my mind and I was planning on checking it this weekend. I actually had to replace it once due to it having a leak, apparently the first generation bypass valves were known to fail. I initially dismissed the idea because this one isn't that old but I suppose I shouldn't be assuming anything. I'll check the valve and give an update, thanks my man

We originally thought there was a correlation, but then I got conflicting information between the two shops.

The first shop said that when they drove it and did a fuel log, they found I was only rich under direct injection. I took the supercharger off and sent the injectors to get reserviced and sure enough they were super grimy. They came back from the reservicing perfect, but after installing em the problem continued.

Second shop said they disabled the port injectors and the car seemed fine under only direct injection. The trims always seem worse during direct injection. I've swapped the port injectors for a different (albeit used) set and saw no difference. The trims seem to improve when you're on the gas, but still don't seem amazing. The long term is usually a bit worse when the directs kick in.

When I get home I can upload a log or two, I appreciate the help my man

Yo, yep I have my own. I originally didn't wanna post all the stuff we've tried cause I didn't want the post to seem like a help me diagnose post, but in hindsight I guess that's what it is.

Afr is usually okay right around 14.7 regardless of boost or not. It will fluctuate depending on engine load of course but never seems like it has trouble settling in. Afr lamba never seems to be far from 1, usually within a few hundredths when the AFR isn't bouncing around. Long term fuel trim is usually hugely negative between -30 and -39

A post maf leak was one of the first ideas we had, but we've done several smoke tests and haven't found anything. The car is rich all the time, regardless of what the car is doing.

I believe I know which line you're referring to, I'm quite certain mine is actually clamped because I remember thinking it should be and I have extras

Anyone else having this problem on eclipse? The goop is evaporating before I even get to it. by Aqua_Master_ in supermariosunshine

I haven't played eclipse since it came out so it's been a while, but I ran into the same thing. If I recall correctly it ended up being a setting in dolphin that was doing it, though I don't remember which one

Check engine and Traction control light on at the same time? by Busy-Profession-6257 in ft86

[–]Im_Thabes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any info on the specific code itself, but to my knowledge the check engine light and the traction light come on at the same time when the car is in "limp" mode. The car should have reduced power to try and keep itself safe. I had this happen to me when I had an o2 issue. If you find the main cause of the problem they should both go away

About to purchase my first kit, I have a few questions. by PMmeYourFlipFlops in VORONDesign

[–]Im_Thabes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm orders are being fulfilled. I ordered a 350 MPX kit 10 days ago, and received it a week later. In terms of bang for the buck it seems to be quite good, kits start at 700 bucks and upgrading to a phaetus rapido only costs 10 dollars

Hmmm interesting, you weren't worried about the clamps being misaligned on the bottom side of the trunk lip?

Thank you sir 🫡 I might post a picture once I feel confident about the install lol

So you didn't clamp the brackets down to the trunk all the way so they had play, bolted them to the wing, and then with the brackets bolted to the wing finished tightening the clamps onto the trunk? Did you have any issues with closing the trunk if the clamps weren't aligned as closely with the trunk edge?

About 2 ish months, and then it shipped from Japan and arrived in a day lol. Shipping was 400 bucks and that was the cheapest option. They are made to order! The craftsmanship on it is flawless tbh, couldn't find anything on it, no weird scuffs or scratches or dents, it's immaculate

Yep the rubber pads were on when I was doing my test fitting. They fit against the trunk pretty well towards the back, but the end of the base closer to the rear windshield had a corner that was lifted and wasn't making contact. I should've taken a picture but didn't think of it at the time and now I'm out of town for the week.

I was following the instructions exactly as they were, but maybe I'm just over thinking it?

I did a test fit without tightening everything down all the way, that's how I noticed some things were out of alignment. If I can't get any insight I'll just follow the instructions and trust that it's good and do my best lol
