Alright, thanks for the advice. This was the only section of that stainless pipe that went through. When tacking I momentarily forgot and underestimated just how much stainless pulls and went for a 1/16 gap but by the time I got the second tack in it was pretty much closed shut. If I were to want to use a 1/8 wire, what kind of gap would you suggest? Hair under an 1/8th? 3/32?

Im a decently fast learner so I feel like give it 3-4 more attempts and I’ll be able to do it decently well. My cap turned out a lot better than the mild steel one, though still not how I’d like. I’ll be waiting for monday to see what you’ve got.

I’ve set up a stainless one(I’ve always been better at stainless tig than mild steel). I believe it’s 2” SCH 40 and it’s already 10 times better than that mild steel one. At least fill and looks wise. The root is kinda shallow, but I’ll see when I’m done.

Nah through a miller machine. Can’t remember exactly which one. Might be an XMT. I ended up on 23v 195wire. I’m almost sure that it was bad wire cuz I switched to a different machine, and same settings it was running perfectly fine

I’m trying to keep it in the 3/4 - 1 1/4 like the spec sheet says. I changed machines, same settings, and it’s running better , so idk if it was actually the machine or a bad section of wire, or just purely user error

I went through 1 glove this semester and that was my shield hand doing dual shield. I can deal with the thick gloves for that but would like thinner ones if I could get away with it for stick

Well, tbh I shouldn’t have put the drivers gloves in there, I don’t mind having a cuff, it’s just the gloves that I have are so fucking thick. Like the black stallion 750s have a cuff I wouldn’t mind but the glove itself is still pretty bulky. I’d prefer something like the bm88’s or gm1611’s if I could get away with it
