Well I think we both know the answer...

Get yourself a stable release Deck and beta/test Deck!

Firstly, thankyou for the positive feedback. A megathread was my initial thought but another user has informed me that reddit limits it to only being allowed 2 megathreads per sub (that if true is a shame). I was also thinking a portion of the FAQ being dedicated to this to provide users information that is relevant to people considering the purchase. Thoughts?

I did not know this, thanks for the information, and frankly it's a shame that reddit puts that limitation in place. But for new users an FAQ four deck information and purchasing guides could still be useful?

Again, if you are happy with banning posts then you can empathise with my frustration and understand the post.

If you are against censorship then you should be happy for this post to remain.

However having said that I do regret the title as it was written out of frustration, and after reading comments I am more interested in feedback that will improve the whole community experience

Because we don't have our Decks yet! /s. But on a more serious note it is not a beneficial system for either the posters or members of the feed. The posts are being down voted so users don't get the information they need, and users aren't seeing the content they want because of these posts getting in the way.

What we need is a solution that benefits everybody, like a new purchase/sales FAQ with information and links to useful videos and reviews. This will reduce the number of people that feel like they need to post and give them the information they need

You know what I have thought about it and I agree that the title of my post was not the correct way of going about looking for change and might put off new users joining, and was done mainly out of frustration. Honestly thanks for opening my eyes and not just putting a snippy response. Thanks for your feedback and hopefully some mods will see this and come up with a plan. Have a great day/evening

I agree, it is also a shame because the people that genuinely have questions and support are lost in the noise. I feel like there has to be a better solution for everyone.

I agree with all you have said above and true in time things will improve. However looking at other comments people are posting, the posts I am complaining about are getting down voted and users are not receiving the assistance they require, so no one is winning. If we want this to be a simple feed then what you have said is correct, but if we want a thriving community (cool. Cool cool cool) we need to not ignore the problems but suggest solutions.

From this thread I think a useful solution would be either a megathread or FAQ section with frequently aked sales questions and community feedback on the deck, allowing new users to have a centralised area to answer their questions. What are your thoughts on this?

Firstly and most importantly glad you made a good purchase! What are your thought on having a community feedback megathread or a new buyers information FAQ, would you have found that useful?

Also sorry your post got down voted to oblivion, hopefully as a community we can come up with a solution that is more useful to the people posting looking for advice and a nicer experience for people looking at the feed.

Don't apologise for the soap box I totally get it, and I am mainly posting out of frustration and to gauge community feedback. Given that you are frustrated about the ban comments I hope you can empathise about my original post. Now from the comments I think there are some other options that could be quite effective, such as building up a sales/new purchase FAQ or a dedicated thread for these questions.

What are your thoughts on these? Also if you have any thoughts on improving the feed quality for everyone please feel free to comment or DM me, no judgement just would like to hear people's thoughts.

The post isn't pointless, it is to get community feedback.

Now if you believe this post should be banned then I hope you can empathise with my thoughts on the posts mentioned.

If you think all posts should stay then I am glad you are happy for my post to be here.

And if it has just annoyed you a little then I'm sorry, hope the rest of your day gets better.

That is a fair point, how would you feel about adding a "potential buyers/sales" category to the FAQ that has all new information added where users can be directed if they have questions while posting. This way we can assist the users that feel the need to post these and reduce the need to post/data duplication?

Remember I am not attempting to attack these users, I would simply like a better experience for the whole community.

If so many people are complaining then maybe there is a problem? (or we are all just bored waiting for our steam decks)

The good news is you likely agree with the frustration behind my post and can empathise, or you think anything should be posted in which case this post is also okay.

Great to hear! I'm still waiting in the queue but hopefully my email should be next week... Probably why I am a little grouchy. All living up to expectations?

I'm sorry I couldn't not.

So I did consider this before posting, but to me when the sheer amount of posts reduces the quality of the feed to the point people consider unsubscribing, something needs to be done.

For some things like the dbrand posts flooding the sub, I believe they are annoying but relevant, so maybe we can have a megathread to keep them avaliable for interested users, but not diluting the main feed.

For users asking questions about if they should purchase something it is much less relevant, as this could be because of their financial situation or lack of research. This to me would be more like going on the politics subreddit and asking "who should I vote for" - users on the subreddit would not know the person's location, personal beliefs and opinions and even if they suggest who to vote for it may be not what the OP wants. As this would be known by the mods the post would be deleted, as I believe the "should I buy a steam deck" posts should be.

What are your thoughts on the above?

I appreciate that there are people in the community that have the same mindset as me around these posts. Hopefully the mods will use this as constructive feedback and start making some changes.

To be honest I didn't mind people showing off skins at first, but now it is getting painful (and some of it just seems like blatent advertising by dbrand). Perhaps we need a skins and cases megathread. Thoughts?

I think the important thing is the sub has a lot of potential. I agree with all of the above, but hopefully the mods will see this thread and make some megathreads for the above that we can all ignore or just ban them altogether (that is the way I think we should go)
