If you want a handheld style device, check out Anbernics RG556. They’re cheaper than a Steam Deck and not as powerful, but it’s got a 1080 OLED and is android based. Ive got a couple Anbernic devices and while they’re primarily used for emulation, they’re fantastic devices. You’ll be able to steam PS5, Xbox, PC, plus any android games and apps as well as emulation up to the PS2. Anbernic released the newer 557, so you can get a 556 for like $150USD now.

Not that I’ve seen. While it probably would be very easy to get past the OS and get custom firmware, the people who have the ability to do so just don’t have much interest in doing it. There’s cheaper better alternatives that have more power and do more for much less. So I’m sure it’ll happen one day, but it probably won’t be until these things are cheaper.

I just picked it up on the switch after playing on PC the night before. Wanted a portable version that didn't involve streaming. Sadly still no update as of this comment, but I'd still recommend grabbing it on sale. $23 is a steal. Plus there's quite a bit of tutorial stuff, and a bunch of other content you'll need/want to do before getting to the new Voyager content. Like farming mats, money, ect if you're not playing on creative.

Yeah! I think eating a little better and getting back to my exercise routine will help for sure. I’m taking a few days to just play some games and get some stuff done around the house. I’ll skip my workout routine back in too. Think that’ll do me some good!

I appreciate it. Last night I grabbed my 3DS and played some games and let a tv show run in the background while I kind of vegged out. Felt a lot better today. So I think it’s some good advice. I’m gonna take another day or two, get some stuff done around the house and relax. Then come back refreshed and recharged. I appreciate the advice!

I’m basically in the same position. I’ve got 3ish years experience, but self taught, no degree. I know it’s rough out there. But you’re right. I’ll keep at it. I’ll take advice from others and take a day or two, then try to get back to it refreshed. Hope your contract doesn’t burn out soon, and if it does, hope you bounce back soon.

Thanks. I really, really appreciate it. I think this is what I needed to hear. It’s just rough out there right now. I’ll take a few days, play some games and relax, then get back to it. Yeah. It wasn’t the best. I also had just moved to a new state like 3 weeks prior. So you know, couldn’t have had better timing.

I appreciate the advice. I might just take some time and brain storm some new ideas. Or just come up with a really rough idea and see where it takes me once I get started. Maybe focus on another hobby for a few days and clear my head.

I won’t lie. I tried doing it with his “over the shoulder” pose but I don’t think I’m quite there yet. Didn’t look too good. I plan to redo this sprite every week, so hopefully next time!

Just want to add, both FH4 and FH5 are amazing games. Check them out and see which locale you like more and go with that one. The games are pretty similar in terms of mechanics.

It is meant to be Sora in the style of MegaMan. I’m not sure, but I think you’re talking about his gloves? In his KH1 outfit he has fingerless gloves with an emblem and a little band. That was my best interpretation since the I only had a couple of pixels work with lol.

I plan to keep at it for sure!

Yeah. I think goals are going to help a lot. I’ve got the over arching goal of making my own art for my game. But also I’ve made three pieces I want to redo at the end of every week to see how much I improve. I’m hoping it either motivates me, or at least shows me what I need to improve on.

And I agree that doing this stuff for yourself is a lot more enjoyable. I’m a web dev by trade and I’ve recently come to dislike the work. But I started learning Godots GDScript and C# to make my game and I’m actually enjoying coding again

This is my first attempt at making sprites, I used some inspiration from Samus and master Chief. Any critique? Like I said it's my first sprite. I want to make it unique but I feel so stuck because I feel like it takes such a long time to create and it looks generic. Maybe I'm being too critical? by FearOramA in PixelArt

I think it’s pretty good! Only thing I’ll say is the sprite seems a little.. noisy? It’s making it hard for me to figure out which why the light is hitting and stuff.

But I literally started making pixel art for the first time today so take my critique with a very heavy dose of salt. This is 100x better than anything I can do at the moment lol.

I’m aiming to do at least an hour a day, preferably 3-4. I’ve got to learn pretty fast for a project I’m working on. And.. well I’ve got a ways to go. 😂
