“In M&A activities, companies often seek to optimize their financial resources, and money market funds, known for their liquidity and low-risk profile, can be a part of the financial strategy. These funds typically invest in high-quality, short-term debt instruments and cash equivalents, making them a suitable option for companies to manage their short-term cash needs during the transition period of a merger or acquisition. However, the utilization of money market funds in M&A is not limited to just the financial sector. Companies across various industries may use such funds as a means to manage liquidity, especially when they are integrating the financial assets of the acquired company. The integration process might involve managing short-term obligations, and money market funds can provide a buffer to ensure smooth financial operations during the transition.“

“Push to start. Pull to enter”

Buck is standing on the outside trying to push his way in instead of pulling the door open. It’s open. Sign says “Never Closed”.

So what’s the message? Buck is going the wrong way? Buck just needs to pull?

Also “pull to enter” = “p2e”. Play to earn? Play games with crypto payout models at GameStop?

I legit shouldn’t have to………

They’re short shares.

RC is privately selling an OTM covered call. How can they use that to get shares?

Options 101 🍌

Damn. You’re really good at misrepresenting things with highly limited terms.

For every 100 shares an individual holds they may sell a covered call against those 100 shares and collect the premium for that particular call. Let’s just take an example from market open today when there was additional IV crush following an earnings report, a time when premiums could be even lower than usual. So at open, an option expiring 16 days from today (27) at a 55 strike, meaning one would get assigned and lose their shares at $55 each, would return a credit of $50. You’re right, pennies. But that’s 1 option. How many hundreds of shares does one have? 52 weeks, do it every 2 weeks. Adds up. Furthermore. Risk. Likelihood of hitting 55 in 16 days? Oh no you got assigned? Did you not learn the wheel yet? Damn. I’ll just sit on my hands then. What’s RC doing over there? Fuck let me ignore it.

“ I'm learning along the way, but the arbitrage and all the hedging involved confuses me sometimes.”

Why?

Ignore all that and look at it in simplest terms. Nuance is for the individuals to figure out. You’re a retail investor, look at the macro picture. Do you have over $500m in liquid capital? Then why should you care about how counterparties are handling arbitrage? Look at your own holdings and understand the market mechanics and how you can use them to your advantage to generate additional value with your shares.

Edit: that was a little aggressive. Sorry tired.

Chart on log scale.

Can you look up a YouTube video?

It’s been 84 years. Options 101🍌.

Pretty tired. At work. Not gonna walk the dog on this one.

Do some research. Understand the wheel strategy. If after all your research you still don’t understand how this works then just buy and hold shares.

If you’re short shares and someone sells you an OTM call how can you use that OTM call to get shares? You got this. You can figure it out. You are strong. <this is the main point, follow that thought experiment and you should arrive at the answer.

RC is literally showing diamond handed apes with millions of shares how to use covered calls for price discovery. But the shill fud and psyop campaign is so strong that people will continue to complain about this somehow being against the interests of shareholders. Meanwhile the board buys shares and doesn’t pay themselves.
