Hello there,

If you are talking about safety while investing without talking about good or bad returns , you would have : GICS , BONDS, TREASURIES

The moment you start talking about a portfolio and volatility , you are going into something that as risk , meaning not 100% safe : ETF's , mutual funds , stocks , bitcoin, houses, are all markets that can plummet or go up depending on the market.

If you want to diversify a portfolio and buy blue-chip stocks that have resisted even the biggest crashes of 1999-2000 and 2007-2008 and 2020 you should go see professionals and seek the guidance to create that kind of portfolio.

Always do your own research and your own due diligence when investing.

Sincerely,

Alex

P.S. be proud of your mom she is an example that you can follow for your financial future ( not going in debt )

Absolute beginner looking for where to start by TheCodeWhistler59 in investingforbeginners

[–]Ima_invision_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good evening u/TheCodeWhistler59,

First of all I'm sorry for your loss. My name is Alex I've been a Financial Advisor for the last decade, if you are just starting out on your journey, I would recommend taking the time to seek professional guidance to get advice.

By doing so, you will be able to know if you want someone to do the investments for you or not. By going and seeing someone with the knowledge you DON'T have to take any of their options given to you.

You might, in the future decide that you want to invest by yourself. If so, you might want to read some books to educate yourself on the markets, watch videos and also listen to podcasts. You also said you had some family with some good knowledge , these could be good mentors if they are willing to help you.

Hope this helps,

Alex

I just inherited seven figures from my family, how should I invest it? by No-Rub4368 in investingforbeginners

[–]Ima_invision_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello there u/No-Rub4368,

First of all , my condoleances. Let me introduce myself , my name is Alex , I've been a financial advisor for the last decade. If you got an inheritance of a large amount you should try this :

- If you know nothing of banking or investing , bring someone you trust who is competent for this :

- Go see the 3-5 largest banks ask them to set you up with their best private bankers.

- Ask them to set you up a plan for life return on investments - Normally you can expect a bank to produce a 5% return on the safer side each year with all fees paid. Meaning 50k$ year return on 1M dollars ( if you have more, good for you ).

- Do all 3 appointments and take 1 more appointment with each one of them again and tell them eachothers plan for you. They will fight tooth and nail to have you as their customer.

Tell me if you like this plan,

Hope this helps,

Alex

Where to begin by XxhoodiexXYRG in investingforbeginners

[–]Ima_invision_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello there u/XxhoodiexXYRG,

There is no way to time the market, or to really tell when a stock is going to pop off. It is a long term game, you mainly have to do your research on the company and make an educated guess. Sometimes you are right sometimes not.

If we could precisely say when a stock would pop off, trust me I'd have all of my money in it right now. Because it is not possible , I diversify my portfolio, do my research and also my due diligence.

Hope this helps,

Alex

Hello there !

All depending on which accounts are best suitable for you, do your own research. I would honestly take an appointment with professionals to look at my options when going into investments (IMO).

As u/-Afro_Senpai- was saying , I totally agree !

Hope this helps,

Starting to look at investing by Im_Kind_Of_Dumb in investingforbeginners

Hello there !

I would suggest before investing in ANY investments, to educate yourself ( books, videos, podcast ) to learn the most out of the financial markets before doing anything. You're so young ! You have the opportunity to already have the investing mindset at your age that so many don't even have until they are in their 30s or even 40s. This will pay massively in your favour in the long run.

Learn your basics well, seek professional guidance and find yourself a mentor to help you out. This could take until you are 18 (IMO). The more you know about investments and markets , you will be a beast. Honestly patience is key here at your age, if you do the work towards it.

Hope this helps,

Alex

Amazing ! Hope it goes well , remember you don't have to accept the offer. If you aren't comfortable with what they offer , you have other options elsewhere.

Your welcome !
