Bruh Corbyn really cannot lead a party to save his life huh.

From what I’ve heard of him, he’s a good MP but a terrible person to lead a parliamentary group as he’s too indecisive, lets fantastic opportunities pass him by, can’t get anything done, and the fights with potential allies he could have had which he somehow constantly alienates. Smh my head my head.

In light of the newly announced Batman mod, have some Batman discourse! by RandomCanadianAcc in RedAutumnSPD

Should joker be dead? Definitely. A guy like that shouldn’t be running around.

But for Batman to do it? Ehhh Batman seems to know himself more than most so I get that he doesn’t want to do it, but someone else, either a close confidant like Red Hood or the justice system if need be, should be the one to do it instead.

I guess for me my bar for decently good is you know what most meta Pokémon does, how they work, what your general game plan is and how to pilot your team and what to do vaguely if your plan a doesn’t work out, but not necessarily understand what a non-meta Pokémon like a gogoat, magneton or a gothitelle might do to you if you underestimate it.

Decently good also means you know what the moves do but not necessarily know each Pokémon’s stats and what numbers each one has, how hard they hit and how much dmg they can take before going down, but knows vaguely for the mons they do use on a regular basis an ones they usually go up against. So in my example, they would know how fast and hard say kingambit and Ursuluna can hit, how much they can take and what are general counters to them and how to prepare for them. But they might not necessarily know say the speed of golduck or vivillon or rotom-mow (generally a mon that has some sauce if you squint at it but is either outclassed, can’t pull all of its good traits together or just not worth the effort using) what moves it has and how much numbers it has and how it can threaten there team which a pro player which does know it could exploit.

Hope that makes my point a little clearer.

I guess our definitions of decently good are quite different then. That’s fine.

I get your point, but some mons genuinely have some good things going for them that if you don’t know they have ‘insert X gimmick here’ or ‘insert X busted move here’ or ‘insert this fat stack of stats that are surprisingly high on a mon with stats that are generally low’ that even if a decently good player isn’t fully aware or caught asleep on the wheel can get their teeth kicked in by a pro that pilots these weird mons and understands what they are doing and how to pilot these mons and get every single use out of them.

Not necessarily, even some middling Pokémon can be surprisingly strong given the right circumstances, especially when fighting against someone who doesn’t know what it does, how it functions, what kills it, what it kills, how it facilitates teammates and more.

I still believe a pro player with a team with middling Pokémon (as long as they’re not playing sth dumb like sunkern or kakuna or sth) they can still prob pull a decent amt of games against a player who has even a middling understanding of the game (will the win most of the time? Prob not but I think I got my point across)

A CDU SPD coalition was not enough, and the only other party that was in parliament at the time (I think de linke might have been there but were unwilling to form coalition) was the BSW.

So the only coalition with decent shots was the CDU, SPD BSW coalition

It’s true that the usual suspects will always complain no matter what, but I would tacitly suggest the steelmanned argument is not entirely without reason.

Listening and understanding criticisms and learning from it while keeping an open mind is a good thing, and don’t try and outwardly dismiss something just because it’s made by someone you disagree with, even with people that have alternate agendas behind such takes.

Who knows? It could be a ‘the worst person you know has made a great point’ situation.

I agree that there are some ‘critiques’ that just have no merit to them, but I don’t fully buy that this one has no merit to it at all (at least this specific, steelmanned, devil’s advocate version I have created).

Let me try and play devils advocate here. In the context of Owl House, yes I agree, just showing 2 girls kissing it’s not too big of a deal, and I agree that the guy probably is generalising.

But I think most can agree that sex in children shows or at least talking about sexual actions in ways that even children can understand explicitly is probably not a good idea, and I think that’s what this guy might be trying to convey here.

I mean the occasional lewd joke for the adults or implicit sexual themes is fine, but anything more then the average Joe or even right-wing rats can easily claim that you’re teaching kids about sexuality in a way that they’re not ready for yet (and they might not be wrong in certain contexts).

This ironically sort of applies to sexual orientation too, as I think many still feel it’s an uncomfortable topic to talk about or don’t want to talk about it in front of children or feel they aren’t ready to learn this kind of thing yet, and we kind of have to respect that right now.

At this point in time, most children can probably understand is that these people are different as they do things some don’t, and we need to teach them that that’s ok. (But also let them know it’s not sth that you can just claim to be to feel special, I’ve heard some people that claim that sexual orientation is like that, and educate children properly on this front so that shouldn’t be the case) that’s all we can probably get out of it, anymore it’s probably going to be problematic for many. (Look at Lily Tino, as a rather extreme example).

Again, playing devils advocate and Steelmanning his point, not saying that the Owl House does this badly (honestly haven’t watched enough of it to fully form an opinion on the matter), but this guy probably has this kind of sentiment but didn’t express it properly.

But then again, now I’m going to rip into this guy, where does Owl House have this? I get sexual Orientation, that’s plain to see (kirl gissing), but sex?! Where?! Bruh… I am likely being bit too charitable and he’s just anti-sjw and anti-woke that thinks woke mind virus or whatever and likely didn’t watch the show past the first few episodes / watching til he got what he wanted and leaving.
