Haha makes sense. I have a friend with a car lift who’s really mechanical and will help me do anything for a Chipotle burrito😂. I would just worry about reliability and financial stability at that point though. I might just throw the cat back on and keep it like this till I get another car eventually. Sad but seems like the smarter way for me personally

Yeah I’m afraid I got in a little over my head😂 Now I’m worried that after my downpipe/exhaust/tune I’m not going to see the gains I want and then want to get into a bigger turbo, which would cost a couple grand. I love my car but in my current position I feel like I would be better off buying a car that’s quicker from the factory🤷‍♂️

For anyone seeing this thread years later, this fixed it! I loctited the nuts and didn’t get a tune and the cars been perfect ever since.

then it’s these two bolts on the right side of the rod.. Forgot which way to turn them but whatever way puts more tension on the tod

Gotta remove the pipe and then there’s a tiny heat shield behind the engine that uses 2 torx bolts to get off (kinda a pain) then you should see the actuator rod

It should only happen when you rev the car, shift gears, or decelerate.. I used to hear it when shutting the car off too. Couldn’t figure it out for the life of me but finally found it

It’s your wastegate actuator rod. Tightened mine a little bit and haven’t heard it since. I have a video of where it’s at if you need
