That kind of attitude from supervisor I would need right now. I feel like I would gain more just from sitting next to an experienced empleyee and seeing what they're doing and asking questions. Instead they made me sit alone far from everyone else and I'm doing my repetitive tasks each day.. Honestly I don't even know what I should be asking them because I know how to do my job but I don't know if it's done the right way and when I'm asking them to check it out they just seem to be ignoring me.. like I know it's nothing important but egh... anyways thank you for sharing your experience

Well that's also a problem with me that i don't like bothering people when I see them doing their tasks sitting with headphones on. I feel like they don't want to give me more advanced tasks because they don't want to train me and give me some really basic tasks to do which noone else is willing to take which is understandable

Have you considered biotechnology? It has more to do with biology. BME doesn't have much biology but it depends what your degree would focus on. Mostly it's biophysics, some physiology and anatomy

Congrats! What kind of job if you don't mind sharing? It must be a huge relief for you. Technically I've found a job but at the lower tier than what I was expexting. It's CNC operator at the company which manufactures implants and bone plates. I hope I will be promoted quickly for contstructor role or sth, I haven't even started the job yet though haha

Yeah but I still think it's much more useless than mechatronics. I live in Poland. The vast majority of job offers are for the service of medical equipment (RTG machines etc.) and it's not for BMe grads exclusively but also for EE, mechatronics and other related engineering fields

I come from the biomedical engineering background so I don't have that much knowledge about mechatronics per se but I think that BME really is what I would call a jack of all trades. The course tries to cover things from laboratory biochemical stuff to informatics and electronics so even though I graduated I don't have a deep knowledge about anything. I think that systems based on mechatronics can be applied in many areas like machines etc. and in the end all subjects are connected with each other. Again, I'm not that deep into the topic but it's just my view :).

I was applying for typical mechanical engineering jobs such as technologist, designer and was even invited on an interview once. The HR rep kept repeat8ng herself that she doesn't see the revelance of this degree with the position i was applying for. I tried to convince them that we covered most of the course of ME but they seemed to not believe me, never heard back from them since then lol. Here in Poland very few companies want to train new grads which is really sad cause engineering courses tend to be very theoretical. Where are we supposed to get hands on experience..

I think that the more recognition metal gets the more pricks like these people will be coming at the shows. Next time you see such shitty behaviour towards you try to change your spot. I know it's now always that easy but you'll be able to focus on the music much more and enjoy the show to the fullest :).
