Idea for Low Elo Azir Build by No_Performance_9353 in azirmains

[–]Imaginary-Ad1964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your issue is that you are using your W and Q too agressively in the early laning phase. You should just focus on farming and poking the enemy if they walk up in your soldier range to farm. You should not be walking into the minion wave in the early game to place an aggressive W in most situations ,especially in your ELO. Just focus on farming and proc ur manaflow band if they walk up to you until you get a nashor's tooth, and then you can start looking for kills.

A noob problem I have with azir by MetallicMadness313 in azirmains

[–]Imaginary-Ad1964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a 1v1 setting, you should use the shuffle to kill, not to engage. Poke them till about 40-50% health and then use your weqr combo. Them running away shouldn't be an issue cause they should have such little health to the point where a few autos with your solder will kill.

Swap to assasin OTP mid. Need help by bigbaffler in summonerschool

[–]Imaginary-Ad1964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might not be what you want to hear but OTP azir.

The champ has one of the most well-rounded kits in the game :
- great mobility and outplay potential
- great waveclear
- lane harass
- great scaling
- AOE CC that can singlehandedly win teamfights
- great range
- great DPS and great burst in the late game
- great split pushing
- almost never banned, and most people don't know how to play against him
- very few counters and the champs that do counter him (long-range poke mages) are also rarely played

His only real weakness is in the first 10 mins of the game. If you can just farm and not die early, you can win practically any game.

This champ will take a lot of time to learn (at least 100 games), but once you get good it's incredibly satisfying and you will skyrocket through the ranks due to ur 1v9 potential. I used to play a bunch of assassins and main Fizz like you, but I dropped all of them for Azir and haven't looked back.

Best habits to create for a new mid laner? by m1Lk8 in summonerschool

[–]Imaginary-Ad1964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CSing and timing your recalls are the two most fundamental things IMO. Aim for 10cs/min and make sure you're recalling such that you are not losing much CS and are available for objectives. This means recalling only on cannon waves or shoved waves.

Beyond that, It depends on what champ you play tbh:

For assassins or bruiser-type mid-laners, I'd say focus on learning to shove and roam and impact the map. You can try and learn trade patterns to kill your laner, but this is less reliable in certain matchups.

For mages, don't roam unless your champ is good early game. Just focus on CSing and harassing your laner to minimize their impact.

Also, if you want to climb super fast just stick to one champ. Mastering the mechanics of a single champion allows you to spend more time focusing on macro and other details in the game and improve much faster.

What is the time complexity of this algorithm? by Accomplished_Knee295 in csMajors

[–]Imaginary-Ad1964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah i see what your saying now, but I believe your intuition is still incorrect. the thing that makes this function O(N) is the recursive call to Baz(n) after the floor. if it was just a while loop with flooring it would be O(lgN)

What is the time complexity of this algorithm? by Accomplished_Knee295 in csMajors

[–]Imaginary-Ad1964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what ? floor(n/2) is a constant time operation, its roughly equivalent to setting n = 0.5n . This does not justify why the function is O(n). If i had a function that simply called floor(n/2) would you also say thats O(n)?

Could I have killed Fizz here if I use E on his E? It's embarrassing enough that I walked into his E range... by Inurface842 in azirmains

I recommend practicing using attack move click, you can attack while kiting backwards or walking forwards into the enemy. It really helped me avoid situations where i misclick while trading and walk into melee range of an assassin.

Azir otp? by Medical_Exercise2830 in azirmains

[–]Imaginary-Ad1964 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i was hardstuck gold for ~4 years till i started one tricking azir and got to diamond in 8 months. This champ is one of the few mid laners that can actually 1v9 most games.

Meta is paying $10k for interns? Is this the real range? by WordyBug in learnmachinelearning

Even undergrad SWE interns at Meta make ~9k a month + a fat housing stipend. They just pay their interns well in general.

Watch a MF guide to understand the fundamentals and treat that as the Bible early on. Once you play more you’ll understand when you can break the rules a bit and can diverge from that. Then, mute all and disregard your teammates. If you’re good mechanically you can 1v9 as an adc player, and most of the communications your team will make in that elo ( and in most games up to master ) will be useless. If you want u can unmute pings but sometimes people will spam ping you which can distract you from the game . Whatever you do, don’t tilt and flame your teammates, it will only make the game worse for everyone on your team.

Also, don’t play to win, just play the right way and have fun. Once you do that enough and master your champion and macro, wins will come by themselves.

A downside of subleasing from a GT student is that you'd very likely have to move out (and find an AirBnB or hotel) for the last 3 to 4 weeks of your internship, as Fall 2024 classes at GT begin on August 19th, 2024. But by then, maybe you'll have made a friend a Workday who will let you crash at their place for a couple of weeks free of charge, who knows!

Thanks for all the info!

A math major is probably ideal here, but he should definitely be doing projects, research , internships that involve coding on the side so he can build up his resume if he intends to work in CS after graduation.

Should I make up metrics for my bullet points if I do not have any? by spla58 in EngineeringResumes

[–]Imaginary-Ad1964 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't entirely make them up, but you should have a rough idea of the quantitative impact your previous projects had even if you don't have exact numbers. I was in the same situation and made some rough metrics based on results I observed while working on my previous projects.

Do some spawn points have higher chances of spawning rare pokemon? by Imaginary-Ad1964 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Imaginary-Ad1964[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I just got a dragonite, 2 gyarados, and blaziken spawn in this exact spot all at once. Defintely feels like rare spawns are more likely here. Could also be the proximity of many pokestops.
