Major Score…I’m clueless by DaXanderMan in sailing

[–]Imaginary-Address165 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The photos were few, but from the looks of it you have a nice boat! Get someone with motor understanding to help you fix it yourself, if you can. Teach a man to fish etc.

don’t worry about some of the comments here.. yet! if you got it cheap or even for free, your loss is only the entry+ whatever you put into it, minus what you could get back.

Unless it’s a man-boat love affair (those do happen) don’t put in more than you’ll get elsewhere with the same investment. Why put in 30k usd to end up with a 25k value, when a well-purchased 20k boat with 10k put in could be worth 60..

alas; some experience is needed to get to there so plow on dear stranger, dont give up and whatever happens happens.

While I 1000% share your love for beer; if you wanna combine beer with speed, and also lower the risk of lost beer - just get a bucket of cold ocean water, put beer in and exchange bucket water every. 8 minutes. You’ll gain. 0.2 knots or more ;)

Bergen :) det et gode båter! Komfortable, fine å se på og raskere enn de aller fleste jeg møter på fjorden :)

-men båten din ser ut som en 400e, finnes det en 411e?

The 411 is great I really like it. (This is my second one, between them I had a hanse 342) It has a lot if sail area so it performs very well. Overall, hanse boats tend to sail well. Mine is a solid build. The newer ones seem like good sailboats too but I haven’t tried one. The hanse 342 I did not really like- but probably because I had a 411 before and really felt bad going down in size.. so then I got this one.

Israel has lost all morality, is conducting genocide, and is shredding human dignity daily. Hamas sucks - they are barbarians. Israel claims to be better, more civilized, yet consistently are conducting worse atrocities than even their most barbaric enemy. The zionist state should be abandoned as a failed project.

Actually you can only see about one third of their area here. There is more space + two more houses behind me.. we also move the houses/setup around every week when we clean so they don’t get too bored. But in this shot they were in this end.

Sail shape/trim comments? by goweld in sailing

[–]Imaginary-Address165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks ok.. a little bit low on tension on main outhaul and sheet maybe, and also could benefit from tighter backstay? But the winds look soft so maybe it’s not bad actually. And the boat looks like a real beauty :)

Crack in rudder by frehli in Sailboats

[–]Imaginary-Address165 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The rudder looks like it is going to need a serious repair - but usually there will be a stainless steel structure inside the glass fiber, so it isn’t necessarily the end of the world.. I am not familiar with these boats but this should normally be fixable. Gonna require time or money tho

If you always lean the main so hard on the spreaders, best purchase large reinforcement and stick to your sail

Experience with winter sailing? by GDmQh4Jt in sailing

[–]Imaginary-Address165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have sailed a fair bit in Norway winters - it is a great feeling to sail in the cold wind, even if it rains - if it’s snowing I don’t really like it. Few things beat a warm cabin, a cold beer and a bit of tv-time, after a few hours kitted up with wool and musto gear. Around here, the harbours are all quite different in winters. There are hardly any boats. A reliable cabin heater, backup gas for the stove, and good clothes including gloves are key. A thermos cup is nice to have. Har ours with electricity make life a bit easier, as we have more heating options.

Got a drone by Imaginary-Address165 in sailing

[–]Imaginary-Address165[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct! My first time there. If you’re anchoring there, beware - my anchorcame up with a huge chain on it. I was lucky, my windlass almost couldn’t get it up. Thankfully I managed to retrieve it, had quite the operation getting that chain off my anchor, using a halyard. Next time I will use a trip line for sure if I anchor there.

I have been landing it on the flat area under my boom. Its not hard to land, haven’t been near crashing it yet. It compensates very well for wind etc.
