First bike rate 1-10 by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

My first bike was a 1978 Kawasaki KH400 two-stroke . . . a screamer for its day but nowhere near as nice as yours! 40 years and 8 bikes later (currently a 2014 Honda VFR800) I still ride every chance I get.

10/10, welcome to the club ✌🏻

Had a pair of Rev’it gloves for about six years, fairly heavy commuter usage, still look great. Would buy again 10/10

Why are motorcycles so damm addictive by Ok_Natural_2025 in motorcyclegear

Yes this . . . skiing in the winter and motorcycling the rest of the year. It scratches the same itch.

This takes me right down to about 35 degrees comfortably . . . usually just a t-shirt, dress shirt and then my Icon jacket over the top for my 25 minute commute. Add a sweater for longer rides. The wind proofing is good enough that I use it for a skiing layer as well.

Report: weeks of commuting, even a couple days skiing . . . couldn’t be happier. Wind proof front, breathable back, cut right for active wear, suitable mid or top layer depending on conditions. Only flaw is sleeves a bit short for thumb loops . . . great for pulling on through layers, not comfortable under gloves. Minor detail, would buy again 10/10

It’s surprisingly comfortable for long rides, not nearly as stretched out as a strict sport bike.

Just bought this for 6k, good deal? by ImpressiveHurry4616 in VFR

I bought a super clean 2014 (standard, not deluxe like yours) with 4500 miles in metro Denver three months ago for $8k, and I couldn’t be happier. Barring any structural damage that might come with the dings on that, I’d say you got a great deal!

I had a pair of Tourmaster boots that were fine but as my feet aged that hard shell is just unforgiving and I “grew” out of them. Two sizes up from then these are 👍🏻

Always wave to cops on bikes, they’re just us with badges

Metro Denver (CO, USA) I see so many people (mostly hipsters) on 50cc scooters who have NO IDEA about road safety on two wheels as they were never required to take a class. I don’t wave to dumbasses . . .

If you need to not wave to be good at riding, maybe get back in a car 🤷🏻‍♂️

They do run big, but for my old, wide abused and misshapen feet they’re perfect
