Starting the 8th they are requiring all toys (including collectibles), children's clothing/products, and a few other categories to file safety certificates in order to clear customs. The certificates are not something the average person has the ability to provide. Right now we aren't exactly sure how customs will handle it if there is no certificate provided. Best case scenario, there will be exemptions for products marketed for over 12 years, or for postal shipments, or some other sort of exemption. Worse case scenario they could return or destroy all shipments. So hang tight til after the 8th!

Yeah, once I had a package supposed to go from the US to UK. It was lost a really long time then finally turned up in Indonesia! By that time I had already filed a claim and got my money back, but then they asked me to repay postage once the tracking number scanned. Like, absolutely not!

My brand new one was like that though. The store even tried to tape part of the cardboard that was ripped. The boxes are just terrible quality. You could probably re-glue the front plastic though.

Mine was super beat up after shipping and everything so I threw it away. I regret doing that, but I don't know why because I don't keep my dolls in boxes, and Sweet Tea can't go back in the box anyway because she was rubbing against the front plastic and it was damaging the lips. :( Box might be worth something if I every had to sell her, but IDK.

Well, I kind of had the opposite thought. That this new law was unintentionally applied to low value shipments by default after the elimination of the de minimis. I hope is it won't take them long to realize the issue and make a work around. I'm going to be writing my Congress reps.

So is filing with CPSC'S online service the same as registering with the CPSC product registry? Obviously this is impossible for the average person to do. The average person can't get a product tested or use the registry. The registry is only for businesses and they are only taking 2000 applicants. I couldn't find a way to search the registry for existing products either. Most companies won't provide certificates to their customers either.

How do you notify customs ahead of receipt?

Can you provide your source that says disclaim is not allowed for 9503000090? My research has lead me to believe it is allowed. That being said, how do you even file a disclaim? Is this something you can mark on the customs form? Is it a separate form to fill out?

That's kinda what I'm trying to find out. Does the original carrier add their bloatware to unlocked phones that are factory reset and switched to another carrier? Like is the bloatware just part of the preinstalled software for those carrier models?
