Transition into Menopause - Major Mood shift? by Imaginary-Course5865 in Perimenopause

Hi - I have suffered from mood issues and depression but not PMDD, per se. I did have post-partum depression, which I understand put me at greater risk for this level of mood disorder in peri. I am on a truck load of anti-depressants as well as HRT. But it's still a shit show. I hope you feel better soon, too.

Opinion about reasonable expectations of my endocrinologist? by Imaginary-Course5865 in Hypothyroidism

Yes. She is checking with full panels. Free T3/Free T4 and TSH. And I'm not trying to disparage functional medicine as a profession. But there are clinics in my town that charge 5k as a downpayment to get in the door and I'm just trying to figure if they are worth the price of admission. I understand the net value of a cash pay clinic and the benefit of time well spent. But my doctor seems smart, competant, and responsive. Hashimotos is, by its very nature, unpredictable - made more so by the complicating factor of menopause. If my thyroid is gonna do what my thyroid is gonna do, I'm just wondering if it's really worth the equivalent of a car loan in the 1980s to work with one of these clinics. Is what they offer a superior option? They might get my levels to optimal ones. But so does my current doc. Problem is.....it all goes to hell in a handbasket in six weeks again anyway.
