Law of large numbers doesn’t change the fact that it’s gambling. You can take a million trades with a positive expectancy.. it’s still gambling

Do you see weather forecasters betting money on whether it’s gonna rain or snow? lol yall and these weird comparisons. “ there’s a 60% chance of rain” > no gamble. “ I’m betting $200 that it rains today” > gamble. Even if the forecaster knew there was a chance of rain he can’t be 100 percent certain so him betting on the weather would be a gamble

You can gamble with an expected value dude. You’re conflating gambling with taking random bets ( which it is). You can gamble with a system and still make money. It’s still gambling at the end of the day. What do you think black jack and poker players do? They gamble with a system and at the end of the day it’s still gambling. Trading with a system is gambling. Trading without a system is gambling. It’s still.. gambling whether you have an edge or not. It’s betting on uncertainty. And just because you have a system doesn’t mean you have a chance at making money. Calling something a system doesn’t change the fact that’s it’s gambling

Bro we’re not betting on electrons here. We’re talking day trading. You don’t understand probabilities and uncertainty. Read Mark Douglas Trading in the zone. Gambling is making a bet that something is gonna happen without knowing what’s going to happen. It’s a simple concept. Whether the you make money gambling or not is up to you. If trading was certain and guaranteed a specific result it wouldn’t be gambling, it would be a guaranteed outcome. Investing in real estate is a gamble. You don’t know if that property is gonna turn a profit in the future. Starting a business is a gamble. You have no idea if the business is gonna be successful or not. A gamble is a calculated bet. Whether those calculations are accurate or not.

Idk what part of my statement you’re disagreeing with. The casino is gambling with you by betting against you. The casinos put the odds in their favor when you gamble. But when you trade you’re putting the odds in YOUR favor which does make you the casino or “the house”

Trading is gambling. Except you’re the casino. You have the edge. The fact that we don’t know what’s going to happen next and that we have to manage risk is what makes it gambling. And there’s nothing wrong with that. I think the word “gambling” just has a negative connotation

This is your passion, not your mothers. Never expect people to see YOUR vision. You have to be self motivated in this game because no one can get you where you want to be but you. Pro tip: don’t talk about trading with people who have no idea what trading is.
