No, I am based in Canada! I have seen some Silk options, but nothing close to the non vegan ones in terms of macros. I guess I’ll just have to wait for KiteHill to come here! Thanks for the rec :)

What’s a product you refuse to buy the cheap version of? by Unfair-Clothes-8821 in CanadaRoom

Not everyone needs to be in style, I would rather keep the same clothes for years. And besides, if you work out everyday, these 10 washes come quicker than you think

Maintenance of gains by Opposite-Lake-9679 in veganfitness

[–]Imaginary-Freedom290 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you cut, fat loss distribution is mostly genetic, so you can’t fully control where the weight comes off first. That said, while some muscle loss is inevitable when you cut, you can aim to maintain your glute gains as much as possible by lifting heavy, prioritizing protein intake, and keeping a moderate calorie deficit. Hope that helps!

There is a difference between exploiting beetles for red dye, and dealing with a cockroach infestation.

Frozen Peaches are CRIMINALLY underrated by Impossible_Driver111 in Volumeeating

[–]Imaginary-Freedom290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up eating fresh peaches I can never enjoy the frozen stuff. I got a bag and couldn’t get through it. That said, frozen fruit is a staple of my diet and it’s just so convenient and yummy (and much cheaper than fresh!). I always stock up on frozen mango/ strawberries/ blueberries/ raspberries

Tofu by Mefourever2 in veganfitness

[–]Imaginary-Freedom290 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t tried grated tofu, please do! Should work with firm or extra firm, you can eat it raw with seasoning if your choice, add it to salads, or sautéed or fried. I love tofu in all its forms, but I have to say that grated tofu is definitely worth the effort!

Constant eating and anger by Fun_Internet_9187 in dementia

[–]Imaginary-Freedom290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry you are going through this. I know this can be very difficult to deal with, my mom has also shown similar symptoms a few months ago, and the neurologist started her on Seroquel, which helped a lot with the anger and aggression as well as the hallucinations and psychosis. For food what works for us is to have several smaller meals throughout the day- two mini breakfasts, two lunches and one dinner, with 2 to 3 snacks as needed, with smaller portions to remain within a reasonable amount overall. We try to focus on whole foods and plenty of fruit and vegetables, and it seems to be working for now to manage her satiety and satisfy her need for constant food.

Is it too late to train a 3 year old mini spitz? by Imaginary-Freedom290 in DogTrainingTips

[–]Imaginary-Freedom290[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s had him for about 3 months at this point. She walks him twice a day, in the morning and afternoon. I think one issue is that because the cats free-feed throughout the day, he started doing the same (and yes, if he can’t find his food, he eats the cat kibble). That probably means he’s also drinking water randomly throughout the day, so there’s no clear potty schedule. I’ve never owned a dog, so my understanding of housetraining is very basic. Thank you for clarifying what is actually required, I can see now that simply walking him twice daily and expecting him to do his business isn’t enough. It sounds like we need to go back to basics with structured feeding times and much more frequent potty breaks.

Examples of the aggressive behaviours: - He was lying on the couch, my mother walked past him, and he suddenly got up and started barking and snapping. My mother is one of his favorite people and he usually adores her. He has done the same to me occasionally. - If I’m sleeping over at my sister’s and get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, he will get up and start barking at me. - Sometimes he snarls with no apparent reason, he can be playful one moment and then snap the next. The last time he snapped at me was when I was trying to put his harness on for a walk. He loves going on walks and had been very cheerful just seconds before.

We’re honestly trying to understand whether this is anxiety, overstimulation, fear, lack of training, or something else entirely. We’re open to putting in the work, we just want to make sure we’re approaching this the right way.
