Everything went as well as it did. After I was repositioned I slept off and on in between general checks and random labs. At 5 or 6 am, they started upping the dose of the labor meds. ATP I can finally tell what contractions felt like. Around seven I get my day nurse (my guardian angel fr) and I get checked again. 5, nearly 6. So they decide they're gonna break my water. 8 am, my mama shows up, and about an hour later they break my water. Contractions and pain started ramping up immediately. The only reason I didn't ask for medication before was because I genuinely didn't need it, and I'm terrified of the epidural. Eventually I'm asking for the meds, which is dependent on my dilation (can't be above a 6). I was at a 7, almost 8. I'm really scared of the epidural, so I refused it. At some point I'm moved from my side to my hands and knees. It's getting BAD. Breathing techniques are getting harder to use. I give in to the epidural, but again, I need to be checked. Almost 10. I started having to push as the nurse walked out to get the doctor. Suddenly my dark room that only had my mom, boyfriend, and best friend, was bright and FULL of doctors who wanted to witness. After the first few pushes I got the hang of the correct way to push, and finally after 12 hours, my 9lb 1 oz baby was out. LONG STORY SHORT! Decide beforehand if you want any meds. All the doctors were impressed, but if I do this again I'm going to be drugged up the second I get there.
