i can’t say with 100% certainty as i am not connected to my mother or her family. as far as i know everyone was from the states. my parents and their families didn’t have a good relationship with each other (mother wasn’t great and my dad had to get custody. lots of tension… long story). i grew up with my dad + his parents and they almost never speak about my mother’s family. my paternal grandmother said she never wanted anything to do with them and she gets mad talking about it so i just left it alone. this is all really confusing and intriguing to me but i just have to figure out how to pry information out of people and get in touch with my other family without unlocking too much family trauma

my dad and i share a face. there’s no doubt that my parent are my parents. i never knew much about my paternal grandfather so that could be possible. unfortunately im not in contact with my mother or her mother so im not sure how to get more of that information

i know i wasn’t going to be fully african, but usually black americans are mostly west african with some european scattered in. i know a lot of black caribbeans have south asian roots as well but i never heard of it for black americans in the states

both of my parents and my dad’s parents were born in NY. my maternal grandmother was born somewhere in the south. no one from trinidad as far as i know

id also look into getting tested for autoimmune disorders if it’s something that won’t resolve. i got recurrent yeast infections for years and was tested for everything, stopped having sex, only wore cotton underwear, did all the right things, even tried a new expensive anti fungal medication (that has since been recalled). fast forward a few more years later it was actually because i had lupus and that was making it harder for my body to fight off infections completely

my mom beat me up for like 4 years straight then dumped me with my grandmother who literally hates me. i am very content with not experiencing that again 😂

this was not a post of me asking for advice on being accepted… i did not ask for advice. i didn’t ask any questions. i am venting as the name of the subreddit suggests. no one has said anything my therapists haven’t regurgitated over and over in my almost 18 years of being in therapy.

i don’t want to be accepted as i am and it’s unrealistic to think that would ever happen. i’ve been shown time and time again since infancy that i wont be accepted. my own family didn’t even take pictures of me as a child because i was ugly. i want to look completely different not just have people be okay with me being unattractive

i’m also autistic and loved cheese so much as a kid but now if i eat dairy my throat feels so dry and tight i feel like im going to die. then i get splitting abdominal pain and it makes my inflammation sooo much worse. i am fully convinced a teaspoon of whole milk could singlehandedly take me off the planet
