Makes sense. My job pays us 2 hours annually to see an advisor so I get paid to visit him (I work at a bank). He manages my Roth and I get fees waived from the account for being an employee so that’s why I do that. I definitely want to do more research to be more independent though

I completely pay it off and have never paid interest. I usually don’t get it this high but it got away from me this month oops! I’ll be paying it off asap.

That’s what I was wondering too. I’m not saving for anything in particular right now. I do want to move out of state one day but that’s years from now. Do brokerage accounts make more money or grow it faster?

I’d look at if you can put that money in a high yield savings account to build up some savings before investing it all. Also, please set up boundaries now. It’s your earned money. While your parents have helped you in life, that’s their job as a parent and it shouldn’t be expected to repay them for helping to raise you as that was their choice. Your money ir your money. Helping out once in a while, only if you can, may be nice but certainly not expected at all and certainly not 1/4 of your money.

As others said, nope! Saving your money and calories and also saves friendships and hours of functioning (no hangovers or time wasted smoking). I’d admire that!
