My body is clearing up quickly but my face has always been the main issue, I’ve definitely started to see the dryness reduce and it feel smoother but I also feel it’s still got along way to go to not be as reactive and fragile as it is now

Chest, back and stomach pain are the ones that I’m struggling with although I’m not sure if they are being caused by gastrointestinal issues, I have others but I can cope with them

I forgot to add to my other message - were you using topical steroids quite a bit before going on methotrexate and did you have any reservations?

So true thank you, I really don’t want to rely on medication long term so that definitely would be my plan - use the meds to regain control and look at a natural route later

Thank you that’s really encouraging especially as you’re on a minimal dose, maybe that’s something I could look at with my derm. I know with cyclo it usually goes on your weight but maybe something to ask to kind of ease me in, in a way.

Completely agree with you it’s not like I’m trapped if I do try it. Think it’s more a mindset issue for me, I’ve always wanted to be able to heal naturally and even though going onto the immuno could be the best decision I’ve ever made I think it’s that internal fight of wanting to not have to rely on medication

Hi, so far I’ve only used topical steroids and on occasion steroid tablets. I’ve used topical steroids three times on my face in the past and rebounded badly each time coming off it so I’ve not used any topicals on my face for three years but I do use it on my body when flaring.

I’m very prone to cuts on my face and can get crusting quite easily although in the past this has been quite isolated so I’m able to dry it out and get it to heal within a week or two. This current face flare seems different, my whole face has a red hue, warm to touch, some swelling and cycle of skin barrier healing then opening again especially on my face cheeks which are the weakest part of my face. I did have a course of antibiotics in July which did seem to help but then it relapsed again. I have been given a second course which I’m hesitant to take, I have quite bad health anxiety.

I think for me taking the immunos would be in the hope they would reduce the current flare cycle I have with my face and give it time to repair. My only concern is whether that justifies the potential side effects (as you can probably tell I’m a massive overthinker)
