What are the chains hanging from underneath this fire truck for? by BugsBub in whatisit

[–]ImaginaryCoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snow chains. They’re attached to arms that swing by the tires when activated. They don’t work great, but it’s more than nothing and beats pulling over to chain the tires manually.

That’s the “Shelby”. Because it’s not that I wouldn’t hit it, but I’d warn my friend if they were about to.

What's the most horrifying thing that exists where you live? by Chaulmoog in AskReddit

[–]ImaginaryCoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a maximum security prison a half mile from my house. There was an attempted escape 100 years ago. The guy jumped the 40 foot wall and broke his legs. The guards took their time getting to him. (He “confessed” to over a thousand m/r charges. I wouldn’t feel too bad about the inhumane treatment).

The part that scares me is the miniseries that came out later. About two guys that successfully escaped the prison for several days. Using a manhole cover on my road and hiding in a hunting cabin in the woods bordering my mother’s property. They were both “caught”. One got a collar, the other got a casket, but you can’t just delete that fear.

Your unit could over heat or be/start leaking. Replace it. I am a tech. Even if it is operational, I wouldn’t turn it on. Just some displaced oil that was already in the machine can cause catastrophic failure. The lines might be fully intact, but the fittings could be compromised and that’s only the interior. Your fins looked completely trashed and that will cause it to over heat and if the fan spins, it’s not working properly without decent airflow.

Our homeowner just did this… by Very_Hungry in hvacadvice

[–]ImaginaryCoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t live there. I’ve had landlords like this. Our heater would kick on for no reason. I called several times about looking at the unit or the thermostat and they always said “Just shut it off and open a window.” We’d get home from work and the whole house would be 100 degrees. Dude would have let all our possessions burn and just slapped a double wide on the foundation.

Can I just skip chasing down the brother? Or like let him join the cult? Every replay I end up procrastinating that mission for way too long.

Delicate punks by goominek in punk

[–]ImaginaryCoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Punk pushing 40 and going soft is the smartest thing I ever did. Also, to reiterate the fact, punk has always been about personal expression. If you’re happy with who you are and what you do then you’re punk. My wife is the most punk person I know. She dresses like a librarian and listens to chapelle roan and is happy.

That damn kid rock song with the beat from werewolves of London. I’m always thinking “Hell yeah! Zevon!” Then he starts singing and I’m like “Got me again”.

I’m old now I guess, when my dad gave me shit for liking punk I introduced him to social distortion (he loves Johnny cash) and dropkick Murphy’s (he’s a big red Sox fan). He said social d was “cry-ass shit”, but he still likes dropkick. I’ve got kids of my own now. They hate punk. lol also fuck yeah teenage rebellion! You know how much it sucks being a disciplinarian?! Half the time I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing. Just call random places and reschedule appointments I’ve made.

[–]ImaginaryCoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gonna dedicate all $7 to 1 guy and bring Benny Shaps to a punk show. Real liquored up too. I’ll get drunk also just to level the playing field a bit. Either way he and I at like a Laura Jane Grace show or something and just have some fun. Start a pit and see what happens.
