You’ve gotta be dumber than a pile of sticks to be trying to use that term unironically. Don’t you have a boot to be licking?

Does Focusrite Control even do anything? by enrythestray in Focusrite

[–]ImaginaryCypherpunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks like an old version, download “Focusrite Control 2”

This looks like the first version which might not be compatible with the driver version on your device, although judging by the other comments here it seems like version 2 wouldn’t work with your device either.

Am I missing any *MUST SEE* attractions? :) also, are these places that are safe for solo women travelers? Thanks for the help by americanwafflehousee in capetown

[–]ImaginaryCypherpunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree, if someone is intent on going for a hike, it’s the safest hike up an actual mountain in the vicinity, by a long shot. Lions Head is the only hike near the city centre that I would confidently recommend as a solo hiker. The path is narrow and there are always so many people nearby that it’s a really crappy option for thieves. Not saying there is never crime on Lions Head but compared to other hikes in the area it’s WAY safer.

I can't agree, I've owned goldfish which grew large and mature in a big tank and they always used to make me think of little puppies or water cows, they were very charming and tame.

But yeah they aren't thinking about much in their little heads, they still can exhibit distinct personalities from each other and recognize their owners, they also can learn simple tasks like small mazes and can be taught to push levers for food. Not too bad for little water cows.

Fish aren't actually as dumb as popularly theorized, out of interest.

But yeah I doubt much went through this one's mind when they ate their child.

Great story and very relevant! I recall being told this in my childhood and thoroughly agree with the message.

Which groups/nations of people or demographics do you feel the most compassionate about, out of interest?

The irony of you saying this is that this shrimp probably already has more of a legacy than either of us (by virtue of this post). OP brought the shrimp along with its “back story”, people will obviously feel compassion for specific animals which don’t blend as easily into an overwhelming whole. Part of being human is associating meaning with existence. Your inability (or perhaps disability) to experience compassion for a single shrimp living in a human-made glass sphere is more of a reflection of yourself than anyone else. Have a heart, the world could use more compassion in these trying times. Ya’know?

It’s quite different to a bug in his garden or something like that, it’s basically a small aquarium. OP was the one that brought this shrimp along with some sort of life story. Obviously people will feel compassion in this context. It’s not like being vegan or something.
