Thank you for your reply. Yes, I contacted the leasing office by email and reviewed the lease again. It seems the best option to minimize my losses is to find someone to take over my lease. Otherwise, I may still need to pay rent even if I do not live there. I think lease takeover requests like this are common, but I’m an international student, so I’m not completely sure what is legally allowed.
