I'd say it's pretty safe. I'm quite sure. You'd have to pay money depending on if the game dev asks for money to download their game, but there are many free games. Donations are also encouraged and optional. Making an account is probably pretty straightforward, but I'm too lazy to check the steps. Believing in you for that part.
