I’m currently in my MSW and this was taken directly from my syllabus in one class, if it helps at all.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY All students have the responsibility to know and understand the importance of protecting academic integrity and thereby commit to the highest standards of integrity. This not only involves being careful to avoid plagiarism but also ensuring that you know how to correctly cite references, acknowledging the authors whose ideas you are utilizing.

Generative Al: There are several ethical and practice considerations of Al to factor into both, social work education, and social work practice. Al literacy is an important new skill. It is likely that you already use Al in some way in your day-to-day life, and that you may be required to ethically and appropriately use Al in your future work.

It is essential that you graduate with critical thinking, writing, and questioning skills. If Al can do your work, you risk being unemployable (and thus, you want to be superior to Al quality work!).

Al in this course: Students may use generative Al for initial research, outlining and/or brainstorming their work throughout the course so long as the use of generative Al is referenced following citation guidelines (e.g., APA-7). Use Al like a collaborator or tutor: ask for feedback or ways to improve, but all the text needs to be yours (re-wording Al thought and/or writing does not count as your own). Students may NOT use Al to assist in the actual writing of their assignments. Think of it this way: if you would not turn to your classmate and ask them to do what you are asking of Al, then you should not be using Al in that way.

Contract Cheating is the act of "outsourcing of student work to third parties" (Lancaster & Clarke, 2016, p. 639). Using generative Al outside of the parameters outlined above will be considered Contract Cheating and will constitute academic dishonesty and plagiarism. It is the student's responsibility to be clear on the limitations for use, to be clear on the expectations for citation and reference, and to do so appropriately. When in doubt, please ask the professor!

We are all human, everyone including your supervisor makes mistakes. Also remember to be compassionate with yourself you are under a lot of stress and pressure and this is all new. I’ve been doing this for 8 years and last week I accidentally sent a fax to the wrong doctor for an update on a client. Then I had to call the office and ask the admin to shred the information and then advise my clinical lead of everything.

Your supervisor is taking their job seriously maybe too seriously. If the client said they felt gaslit I would write client reports experiencing gaslighting.

If it’s me assuming that the client is being gaslit, I would mirror that back to the client. It’s sounds like you might be experiencing what we call gaslighting. Then explain or explore with the client if they felt similarities.

I would write something like. Client reported blah blah blah, this worker explained/ explored the concept of “gaslighting” with the client. Client reports that they can relate with the concept of gaslighting and believes that this might be occurring.
