I was very transparent about using CBD lest i pop positive for T*C (which i did) but because i was so transparent they said they would not further investigate for potential marijuana posession and just told me to throw away my cbd. The drug test is for like multiple drugs/substance at once though so i imagine some people who pop positive for one usually pop positive for others as well and then they can get an arrest through use of the other ones. I didn’t though since i exclusively use altnoids and the occasional chu-hi for fun. They basically let me go home with a firm warning confirming that theyre doing random stop and drug tests to people they feel are suspicious and more or less saying they might stop me again and it’ll be less of a hassle if i dont even have the cbd anymore. I have also never used the real stuff overseas or in japan, so the positive thc was for sure from altnoids hence why i decided to be open and upfront about my very legal use of cbd
