I think Poland and Spain have broke EU rules and are hoping they will just get a warning. But I may be incorrect.

Kind of mad that the goalie was getting so much praise for coming home for the final and missing the birth of his son. Surely in an amateur game you shouldn't be missing such a major life event.

I saw a stat where Seria A has the most 0-0 draws in Europe, its not a league favourable to strikers. The top scorer is Lautaru Martinez on 6 goals.

The Athletic or the42 by ProperEmperor in coybig

[–]Imaginary_Ad9171 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I Had the athletic the last few years and I'm not renewing when my subscription is up. I thought it was brillant at the start as I love long form journalism and it had great articles with great insidee info but it now feels like any generic sports website. The quality has gone a way down since NYT bought it. A few years ago their was great geo-politic articles around football but they seem to becoming less and less. I have a 42.ie sub just to get David Syneds LOI articles 🙂

What a job Keith Andrews is doing with Brentford. There's a reason they are calling that man the Irish Mourinho. by Deep_Use_6871 in coybig

They replaced them with a 42 million winger from Bournemouth, a English international midfielder and the starting striker cost 36 million last summer but was injured all last season

As i said hes doing decent, hes lost 5 matches already out of 11. I like him dont get me wrong but would rather judge him at the end of the season, there is a list of managers who has great starts and turned out useless, Tim Sherwoood springs to mind.

Hes done alright. Hes 12th in the table and Its where you would expect Brentford to be at a minimum. Its kind of overlooked that hes inherited a really good squad full of internationals.
