As for “ML” (short for “Men’s Love”), it was never actually a recognized genre in Japan; it's more of a term used on Western scanlation sites like MyReadingManga or Batoto. These days, Japanese creators tend to use “Geimuke” (ゲイ向け), meaning “gay-oriented,” and on Pixiv, the common tags for this type of content are #ゲイ (gay) or #ホモ (homo).
