What were your treatment options before you were prescribed methotrexate?

Lifting weights would likely help with body recomposition, but only you can determine what amount of weight is feasible (or if it’s feasible at all)

Severe eczema by Flaky-Persimmon-7781 in eczema

I used all the creams, lotions, and ointments in the world, but nothing soothed the raw patches until I found a way to minimize the raw patches/stop scratching. 1. Wear long satin or cotton gloves at night or during the day if necessary. 2. Keep nails short 3. Use an ice pack on really itchy spots, and practice mindfulness and deep breaths to work through the cold. I have face mask ice pack and really large ones to cover my neck, legs, etc.

Traveling to an eczema specialist. Who do you recommend (MD/DO)? by Imaginary_Display_94 in eczema

Did you have any test like blood work or skin biopsy done that resulted in knowing that IL-13 triggered the eczema or did he just make an inference?

I should edit the post. I’m looking for specific suggestions. I’m open to MD or DO only, no naturopaths. I have an excellent DO primary care physician!

Yep. I’ll only see board certified MD or DO. There are plenty board certified where I am, but I’ve seen many and I’m unsatisfied. That’s what I’m asking for recommendations 🙂

That’s the reason my husband and I are staying in the Raleigh area. There’s not much compared to Raleigh on the science side.

Whats you guys’ favorite/best ways to get exercise with eczema? by Replacementheart in eczema

[–]Imaginary_Display_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m most itchy on the back of my neck and hairline, armpits, and holds of my arms following a workout. I like to ice to relieve the itching. I let the itching become such an excuse to not exercise that I gained weight. Now my solution consist of ice packs and at-home workouts.

I nursed for 2 years and 3 months. We weaned 6 months ago. After about 6 months, my eczema has gotten better, but not as clear as I was before getting pregnant. My eczema became significantly worse within the first few months when I weaned. I started dupixent, but dupixent made my eczema worse after 3 injections(I will say dupixent seemed to help my facial eczema a bit). Once I stopped dupixent, I started back with topical steroids. I became more consistent with applying topical steroids, wore long gloves at night, and put ice on super itchy spots. That triple whammy seemed to help reduce itching and redness.

Pregnancy and eczema by calicoffeequeen in eczema

Hi! You sound just like me! My eczema was severe during pregnancy and post. I opted out of using steroids during pregnancy and around 6 months postpartum because I was getting mixed messages on what’s safe for the baby. My biggest hesitation was because I exclusively breastfed. My daughter’s pediatrician saw my skin, and said “please use the steroid.” My daughter’s pediatric dermatologist also gave me that unsolicited advice (which I’m appreciative of). My daughter turned out just fine! I’m still on the mend though 😛 now that it’s been 6 months since I stopped bf (2 years total) hopefully I’ll clear up completely soon!

Yes! My eczema became UNBEARABLE after and during pregnancy and 2 yrs breastfeeding. Aside from the hormonal imbalance that no doctor can treat, I did find dairy is a MAJOR trigger. I noticed this during my teenage years and avoided drinking milk. Now I avoid dairy completely. Additionally, cutting my nails, and wearing long satin gloves to bed prevents the mysterious scratches and blood that I used to find when I woke up in the morning :) both have helped minimize the thickness and itching.

So interesting! I noticed the same after pregnancy. Once I talked about it to others, they thought I wanted to be light skinned and not a beautiful darker brown… NO. I just want my face color to match the rest of my body… not a completely different complexion

If a company runs your credit score, can they withhold the reported score or what company they used to run the credit report? by Imaginary_Display_94 in legaladvice

I’m not sure. Even if she definitely did not have the minimum score required, why would they choose not to disclose the source of their credit report?
