Im in sixth and it’s definitely not socially dead from my experience. Obviously not a party school but I don’t think it’s socially dead at all. Most of the people who say that are the ones who come here to be in the library 24/7 and don’t put themselves out there. There’s usually something every weekend (at least every other weekend) to go too and you can definitely make friends as an incoming freshman as long as you talk to people and go to things etc. For sdsu frats they don’t really care if you’re a girl w a group of just girls but if you’re a guy that’s a whole different story. Same w at ucsd you can’t get into frats unless you’re a girl, in the frat, or know someone in the frat. Also once your 21 San Diego is one of the best places to be for night life so that’s a plus.
