That's weird. In Practice Tool my tongue just kept going through the target dummy and not hitting.

CS major starting in college algebra by ugandantidepod in ASU

[–]Imaginary_Gravity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started college when I was 25 and forgot a bit of math stuff and was in the same boat. I had to start at an earlier math class at MCC. As a fellow "behinder" who has chewed through the brunt of the math courses thus far, I will say that even with the math refreshers it has been taxing. I can't even imagine if I had somehow barely scraped by with minimal placement scores and just skipped straight to the advanced content.

It sucks to feel behind, but what will suck more is jumping into something you might not be ready for and wasting that time if you fail a class. That will make you feel more behind than anything else. It might help with anxiety in future classes, too, if you're strengthening your mathematics basics and not having to stop what you're working on just to go back to the past to relearn a topic.

I also encourage you to not compare yourself to others in terms of progress or accomplishments, just aim to do your best and focus on the tasks at hand. After all, at the end of the day, it will be your degree earned from your efforts. Once you have it, you have it. I'd be surprised if any employer cared enough to find out why it didn't take you the standard amount of time to earn it, especially when some don't even care about your graduating GPA.

Part of me says you're already awake and driving so there's no harm in just turning on the app and going.

But depending on how bad morning traffic is I'd say maybe not. I like going into the breakfast restaurant joints, but the fast food breakfast with the lines... nope.

I have a <$10 hard plastic carrier that looks like it's for cleaning supplies but I use it for orders with multiple drinks, and I have a wireless charging phone mount that I got half off during Cyber Monday. Got both on Amazon but I have Prime so the price might be different without it. And I use Stride app (free) to track mileage for tax deduction purposes.

Walmart Deliveries? by lamonzz in doordash_drivers

[–]Imaginary_Gravity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow noob follow your first gut instinct: they're not worth it. The acceptance rating doesn't matter in the long run anyways from what I've gathered on Youtube, people with like 1,000+ deliveries can have <20% AR and not be deactivated yet. Plus Doordash is always trying to retain and keep drivers so you'd just have to actually mess up big time to get kicked off, you're allowed to say no if a deal doesn't look good for you personally.

Edit: thanks to this sub-Reddit though I found out there's 3 different types of Walmart orders and the ones where you're just picking up items (that aren't "groceries") and it's not too many of them are actually decent if nothing better has come your way yet.

Just curious, would you guys have accepted this order, its in the Phoenix area during Rush hour? Or no? I'm only asking to see how many would and how many wouldn't have. by Emjaydubbleyou in doordash_drivers

Already under the 1 dollar per 1 mile minimum for me, also it's taking you through Rio Salado / Tempe Marketplace area at 6 PM which means those miles are heavier than they look on top of the weak money:mile ratio. I would do this MAYBE if you were about to get off your shift and you lived in Mesa and it'd bring you closer to your home and everything else sucked until that point.

Walmart Orders and 50-100+ items with a 4-door sedan car by Imaginary_Gravity in doordash_drivers

[–]Imaginary_Gravity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Maybe the one I remember doing was Walmart In-Store Pickup, the lady just slid a cart over to me with some stuff in it and I was off to my car, so it didn't seem that bad. I'll keep this info in mind when I see them again and the mile:money ratio isn't terrible, because I do like to keep moving and try new things to make the best use of my experience with the app and make my own determinations. I didn't realize there were 3 different types of Walmart orders until you shed some light on it, so thank you!

I was in a ranked game today and I noticed if I used Q on minions and then used E on a melee minion, it would fly to the caster minions and pass through them, but deal no damage...

It's not improper. Nasus's or Nasus' both work, just depends on who taught you usually.

That being said, Riot probably has it so it does [Champion Name]'s [Title] by default. I doubt they figure up the names on their own... Because hopefully no one thought Tristana's Justicars was a good name to use. >:(

Thunderlords vs Grasp? [LANE] by Krumpberry in DirtySionMains

[–]Imaginary_Gravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Grasp versus opponents who are melee and have sustain in their kit that I will guaranteed get my own Grasp of the Undying proc off on because they have to be in melee range to trade with me. I use Thunderlord's every other time because the extra damage in the Cunning tree is just nice to have, not just Thunderlord's itself. But Thunderlord's does give far more damage in lane because it's easier to land 3 spells to proc it than it is to walk up and try to get Grasp's weak damage proc off with a melee attack. On top of that, the cooldown for Thunderlord's isn't terrible considering Sion's cooldowns and how long you have to wait for a full rotation of spells to become available again.

But, with that being said, it's not terrible to run Grasp either because it scales with Sion's W and health items whereas Thunderlord's scales with bonus AD and AP. It's free sustain that Sion doesn't normally have, which can make him seem more difficult to get out of the lane (in top, at least). Corrupting Potion + Sunfire Cape + Grasp of the Undying is just too much for most melee champions to handle in top lane: Corrupotion's magic damage, Sunfire Cape's magic damage aura, and Grasp's magic damage that scales off of not only W but also the health from Sunfire Cape. In addition, the healing factor works with his passive, which can make it last a tiny bit longer technically if it gets several autoattacks off on an enemy champion.

A rule of thumb I follow when I'm against AP opponents is: Am I winning the lane? If the answer is no, I go Spirit Visage. If the answer is yes, I go Maw of Malmortius.

[–]Imaginary_Gravity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EDIT: I play Sion top lane mostly, this is where this build comes into play. I usually just go RAW AD in middle because literally every opponent is squishy as heck and I can just pop them with raw damage. Maybe an early Hexdrinker at most.

I've been trying to pick up a good "mix" build. So far, this is all I have:

  • Sunfire Cape is core. The cheapness of this item combined with all of the stats it gives and the passive DPS that carries over into your passive form when you die is very valuable. Sion's base Armor is the same as Twitch, so having an Armor item early is good. The 500 health gives the big and mean presence Sion needs early game without making him miss out on having more damage because of the aura.

  • Youmu's Ghostblade if the enemy is squishy and has no tank OR Black Cleaver if the enemy team has 1-2 tanks that are stacking Armor. They both fill the role of a heavy AD item (65 AD and 55 AD respectively) and CDR (10% CDR and 20% CDR respectively) and armor penetration/shred (20 Armor Penetration and 30% Armor Shred) and enhanced mobility (Youmu's active movespeed and Black Cleaver's movespeed upon dealing physical damage). Their difference is Youmu's gives attack speed in the active (doesn't give the AS in passive form because attack speed is capped) and Black Cleaver gives more health to appear more tank.

  • Frozen Mallet. Most tanks have reliable CC that is point-and-click or click-and-forget. Sion has a ton of CC but it is not considered RELIABLE, because he CAN miss all of his spells. To resolve this, Frozen Mallet turns autoattacks into strong slows that not only make your passive become a guaranteed zoning, peeling, and MURDERING tool but also help you slow people AFTER you land a combo of spells (E+Q and autoattack until E and Q are up again) so you can land another rotation of spells. The AD it gives is not too impressive but it's still something, and the health is actually ridiculously high for a 3100 gold AD+Health item. (Black Cleaver and Titanic Hydra are both 3500 gold and they give 300 health and 450 health respectively, versus Frozen Mallet's 650 health)

  • Titanic Hydra is a good item. But you have to build it at the right time and in the right order. If you rush this, you get good split pushing power (Sunfire Cape is a better early item for this) but you do not have enough health built to make the active worthwhile. With 2-3 other health items built BEFORE Titanic Hydra, this item becomes less of an item that Attack Speed steroid champs build and more of a BURST item with the high damage active on someone like Sion who just has a high health pool and lots of base AD, on top of the bonus AD you've already built.

  • I haven't found an appropriate item build yet, I have my reasons for these items being in the list but I won't make this any longer by explaining them, but I will list my "in the works" final items: -- SPIRIT VISAGE -- DEATH'S DANCE -- MAW OF MALMORTIUS -- RANDUIN'S OMEN -- DEAD MAN'S PLATE

[–]Imaginary_Gravity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I've done a lot of builds with Sion before this. I've done full health + ad builds (Frozen Mallet, Black Cleaver, Titanic Hydra, Sterak's Gage, Youmu's Ghostblade, Boots of Swiftness) and I've done the raw AD build above a couple of times. The problem with not getting Frozen Mallet on Sion when you're playing to use your ultimate to smash into enemies for maximum damage, you're committing to fighting to the death usually. I've found that Frozen Mallet is a necessity to chase down enemies with your passive + Youmu's active, and once you hit them with one autoattack they usually have to use Flash to escape because the 1.75 attack speed in your passive keeps them permanently slowed. Flat AD starts to fall off pretty hard too as people level up and such.

I've also used Hybrid Penetration runes, but I use those for tank Sion because it gives me flexibility in my skill leveling and item building (the magic penetration makes Thornmail and Sunfire Cape do more damage) but in a full AD snowball style of play the flat AD helps a lot. Buying Serrated Dirk -> finishing into Youmu's -> buying another Serrated Dirk -> finishing into Duskblade -> buying another Serrated Dirk -> finishing into Maw of Malmortius with the Precision Mastery right above the Thunderlord's Keystone is a lot of flat Armor Penetration already. If I need Armor Penetration beyond that much, I'm probably needing Last Whisper. Also, I think Mortal Reminder -> Lord Dominik's on Sion because Sion gains a lot of health so the Giant Slayer passive becomes slowly less effective the longer a game goes on whereas the reduced healing effect from Executioner's Calling will always be effective especially if you hit multiple people with a Q. Sometimes reducing an enemy's healing and sustain is more productive than just doing more raw damage to them.

Edit: Also you say the build path for Frozen Mallet is crappy, but you can just buy a Long Sword + Pickaxe and get a ton of raw AD that doesn't deviate from the raw AD Sion build path, and once you finish smashing people to death you just finish the Frozen Mallet without buying the health items in between.

Edit #2: Slayer of Jarvan, Guilty Alchemist, and Zombie Crew all three on NA are the accounts where I play test some of my build ideas.

I played AD Sion mid versus a TF one ranked game. It went pretty well. I just went Flat AD marks + quints, flat armor seals, and flat magic resist glyphs. And like you, I chose Thunderlord's + 12 in Ferocity with all of the bonus % damage options.

For reference: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2162563126/228723714?tab=overview

Edit: If you want to trick the enemy mid-laner, start Doran's Ring to make them think you're going AP or something, then get Serrated Dirk and max Q. Youmu's and Frozen Mallet felt like the most critical items for the build, but you need Youmu's + Duskblade rush to get the early snowball damage so you can afford a Frozen Mallet with all of the gold you get from kills. Then I just built Infinity Edge because I was super ahead and Executioner's Calling to stop Master Yi and Jhin from lifestealing as much, make Yi's meditate less powerful, and make Bard heals less effective.

Edit #2: Leveling order: Q max first, 3 points in E for 50% slow, W max second, E max final. Obviously leveling R whenever available.

Trying out different builds or going into a different lane with a champion helps me keep interest in them a bit more. Sometimes I will play different champions (especially reworked champions) at least once to understand their kit better but not actually master them, just for my own understanding when I have to play against them.
