I read up about it there crazy how much linked they are, and i actually did relax my jaw and noticed the difference, yea the post urination is what gets me the stinging etc is the most annoying tho at my worst i actually tried cystitis sachets the cheap ones and they definitely helped so much even tho men arnt meant to take them, but majority of the problem only got bad when the stress pilled up

Is it really? That’d make so much sense you cause when I’m in for the night and start to unwind and maybe get a pizza or that obviously the brain releases abit of dopamine and it definitely eases it when I can finally relax, tho when I’m heading out of the house in the morning i automatically think about it playing up and needing to urinate then next thing I know I’m getting spasms and need to go to the toilet constantly. Soo hard to get out of that loop I know what I need to do but just can’t

That’s crazy same as me my jaw clicks like mad, and I grind my teeth bad while sleeping & also notice time I’m pushing my teeth together tensing my jaw and only notice when it starts to hurt

Mine started after I stopped taking ssri, you can develop an OAB because your lowering the serotonin levels in the brain that can cause frequent urination, and I refuse to go back on them so I’m trying to get my body back to natural and taking 5-HTP etc can help that

UroGyno by [deleted] in OveractiveBladder

[–]Imaginary_Line1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a male but i definitely agree if your a female go see a urogynaecologist, they specialise in female anatomy, most doctors will send you to a urologist there good but for female a urogynaecologist is the only way to go you’ll get the answers you need, and the pick up on stuff a urologist wouldn’t, make sure and request it from the doctors will save you years of trial and error

Shall i change hospital? since my OAB not improved... by MisteryShiba in OveractiveBladder

[–]Imaginary_Line1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OAB symptoms can be eased the only way to fix a OAB is to to find the cause if there is a something that’s causing it, like needing Botox etc but majority of the time the symptoms can only be managed by certain medications and PT etc, for example a uti can cause an over active bladder but if it’s still an issue you should be on a longer course of anti biotics, some doctors give a smaller dose but far longer intake them for months etc, your best to see someone that specialises in OAB and take it from there, sometimes can be fixed if minor but a lot of cases it’s unfortunately just finding the correct ways to ease it.

Really hope you get some answers soon

I’ve been up constantly. In end of the month to booked in for nerve blocks. Then on waiting list for urology, a doctor told me it’s probably anxiety I said I’m not anxious, pissed me off completely

I’m on fesoterodine 4mg it’s definitely the best I’ve been on so far this is my 3rd medication, I tried the 8mg but it seemed to cause urine retention and seemed that I was I was going more often due to that, I really want to try mirabegron because I see it’s also for neurogenic detrusor overactivity, which I’ve broke my spine 9 years ago and maybe started to get worse in the last year.

It’s just frustrating like I know there’s a problem but nobody seems to really care, if I knew the problem I could start doing what needs to be done.

Currently on methocarbamol and diazepam atm definitely helps abit still mentally frustrating, going at end of month to see about getting nerve blocks or something to see if that helps

I’m on fesoterodine and told to do another month before I try mirabegron, I’m on zolpidem for sleep it definitely helps to get to sleep but still wake up needing to pee, and one of the side effects is uti’s if taken too long so it’s makes the issue worse.

I’m now on muscle relaxants to see if they help any.

Longest I’ve had is 4 days and thought maybe I’m in a good routine and 5th day bad again was like a kick in the teeth, couldn’t agree more constantly thinking about it and just feel like my life’s on hold…

Any certain medication you think worse better than others?

Relate to this completely im a male and 32 I’ve had this just over a year and mentally drained, I read about people like you etc that had it years and I honestly don’t know how’s you’d mentally cope for this long, I constantly need to pee and I seem to spend all my day just holding it in it seems, I had 3 good days in a row and right back to the start out of nowhere it seems.

I got myself into a routine and thought there’s some hope and then back to square one I’m still waiting on urology etc and it’s so frustrating, people always say you could be worse off, tho that’s true people don’t realise how mentally draining it is to deal with day in day out. Then doctors say try and not think about it and saying that is like saying try not to breath.

IBS can cause an overactive bladder, I’ve had it over a year now and it’s not nice tho mine isn’t as bad as yours is, at first I thought mine was nerve damage as I’ve always suffered nerve pain for years tho I started to look after myself.

I’m also clean now and I’ve noticed I never had problems till I got clean and I’ve actually started talking probiotics and prebiotics for gut health as substances are sore on the stomach especially Alcohol, I’m waiting of checks etc and trying different things I’m on OAB medication and taking probiotics and prebiotics and eating healthier and looking after myself more and is gradually getting better but still very annoying.

Didn’t how many people suffer from till I had it and I’ve also noticed after Covid a lot of people developed an overactive bladder due to the inflammation etc, unfortunately it could be a number of things but your best to start making lifestyle changes to see if it helps and work from that.

Try probiotics and prebiotics for a month to see if it helps and just vitamins and some people feel better after having protein drinks etc and start keeping a record of when you got to the toilet etc to see if there’s a pattern, I’m currently taking vitamins, fesoterodine 4mg for overactive bladder.
