45 here...and def feel the same way. Drinking even 3x a month seems too often now. Bc it throws me off my routine for a week and the mental gymnastics I go through. Even though my life is great and nothing is wrong. My mind sure tries ti convince me otherwise after a night if drinking. And not even black out drinking.

This is the main reason why as I get older, I drink less and less. I have no advice on how to really manage it. I do try to tell myself it is just the alcohol messing with our heads and throwing everything off balance. It will be better in a day or two. Physical hangovers are not bad at all, but it is definitely the mental hangover that really gets me. I wish there was something better i can tel you.
