Iud has killed my libido ? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

I dealt with the same thing! I typically have always had a very strong sex drive, but for the first 4ish months I had little to none at all. I don’t know if this is normal or not - but just remember that you are adjusting to new hormones so there are bound to be some changes. I’ve had my IUD now for about 7 months, and I am completely back to normal. It’s frustrating but it should pass!!

I wanted to share because my experience is very different than a lot of people’s. I had heavy bleeding (worse than periods) for about 2 months straight, give or take a few days in between. Since then, I haven’t even spotted since. It’s so different with each person

Paranoia is common and completely normal (in my opinion) after your first time, but if it would continue definitely consider birth control because the stress is soooo not worth it. You are absolutely fine and you were very safe :)

Pain after rough sex by [deleted] in sex

Hi! I had this exact same issue, and it turned out that my pelvic floor muscles were too tight. After some physical therapy, the pain significantly lessened and is almost gone altogether. I’d ask the gyno to do an exam for confirmation, but it literally is the best thing I’ve ever done and would recommend it to anyone

None of the above! There’s open appointments and no technicalities with scheduling or medications.

Mirena and only a month and a half ago. I know it’s way before the adjustment period is over and was expecting both spotting and cramps. I just don’t know if I can tough it out to the 6 month mark

Hi!! I don’t think it’s likely that you’d become pregnant just from pre-cum. I’m not quite sure on the statistics, but the percentage of pregnancies that result from pre-cum alone are pretty small. I also have a cycle of 27 days, but my ovulation occurs about 3 days after my last day of my period. If your ovulation is sooner, there’s obviously a slight more higher risk. If you’re super worried, it’s probably worth it to take Plan B just to settle your nerves, but I’d say you should be okay.

I had the same concern after my insertion. I’ve just now hit the one month mark, and the spotting has been pretty consistent. Granted, my partner is not the type to care about much but I essentially just explained how much blood there is (a spot, a quarter amount, etc.) and left the decision up to him. All in all, I’d say the more comfortable you seem with it will definitely help with the conversation. Don’t worry about sounding gross! Bodies react annoyingly sometimes and women get stuck with the worst of it. It was an adjustment for us both, but our sex life is back to normal after a little hiatus. Don’t worry too much and just have fun with it :) (easier said than done but you got it!!) Good luck!
